Sometimes in life, you’ve gotta do hard s**t, just to remind yourself you’re still a badass. 💪🔥
There’s no denying that life without sport has been a challenge for me. Throughout my athletic career, I’ve had incredible highs 🏆 and some tough lows too 💔.
In 2019, I decided it was time to let my body rest after years of intense training… Well, let’s be real, my body decided 😅. Not many people know, but I became quite unwell for a month or two. Doctors had no answers other than I was dealing with an autoimmune response caused by stress 😓🧬. That was my wake-up call to slow down and give myself permission to rest 🧘♀️.
Fast forward through the pandemic to now, my body looks different to what she once did 👀. But honestly? She’s still amazing 💖. She’s taken me from performing across Australia 🇦🇺 for trampoline 🤸♀️, to competing in the U.S. 🇺🇸 for cheerleading 🎀, to now completing my very first HYROX 🏋️♀️🏃♀️💨 with a finish time of 1:40:58 ⏱️✨!
To my body: thank you 🙏. Thank you for being strong 💪. Thank you for letting me do hard things 🔥. I appreciate and love you, no matter how we look 💗.
To .pilates , my HYROX partner: thank you for always showing up, pushing me in the gym, and bringing that unmatched energy ⚡. I have loved every step🫶💥.
To my sideline cheerleaders 📣💕thank you for the endless encouragement 🥹💛.
Special shoutout to my amazing partner, 👫: thank you for supporting my chaotic need for validation through sport 😂 and for always saying you’re proud of me 🥰🙌.
