A huge thank you to Angie, Scott, Dave, David, and Darren for another “ripper” Noyea Carnival Day. Residents took the opportunity to show off their skills with the bat n ball, there were some standout stars and loads enthusiasm from the all the competitors. Karen’s stepdaughter Kate had a sharp eye and was bang on with the Jellybean competition, predicting 372, the actual number was 372! Around midday it was upstairs for lunch.

The staff set up the games, offered their tips on how to improve the scores, cooked and served the snags, attended the Bar and cleaned up in the kitchen! Angie took some funny photos at her photo booth.

The day was another example of what our staff will do to ensure the lifestyle here at Noyea Riverside is as good as it gets!

Noyea Riverside celebrated S**o's 100th birthday. Family, friends and RA team gathered to celebrate the impressive milestone. S**o is someone that always has a smile and a joke in hand. He brings and teaches Shuffle Board at events. We thank him for sharing his day with us. A special thanks goes to resident Karen and her team for organising and hosting the celebration!

Today we’re celebrating the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who bring wisdom, support, and the (occasional) dad joke to our communities.

Whether you’re sharing a laugh with loved ones, passing on a bit of advice, or just enjoying a quiet moment (with your feet up and a few liquorice allsorts, hopefully!). We hope your day is a great one.

Happy Father’s Day, and thanks for everything you do.

Noyea Bowls Championship 2025

The final of the bowls was played on Monday 25 August under perfect conditions thanks to Scottie and his team the green was running fast and smooth with perfect weather.

Trish won the toss and decided to give the mat to Roy which is a bit of a surprise , consequently after only 3 ends Roy was leading 8 to 0.

Trish, showing her fighting spirit fought back with 2 ends of 3 and after the 9th end the scores were 11-8 to Roy.

And that’s where the game turned., Roy was in complete control taking the Championship with a crafty 3 on the 16th end, with a final score of 25 to 8.

Congratulations to Roy on a fine win!

I would also like to thank everyone who participated in this years comp; there were some surprise wins and as always played in fine spirit by all.

Carol’s Scratch and Sip afternoon proved to be great fun. We scratched, laughed and sipped until the picture on our canvases revealed itself. The tables were laden with a choice of nibbles to counteract the sipping! Lisa, Carols daughter and Lisa’s friend Helen ensured our glasses were topped up with a selection of fine wines allowing the creative forces to flow freely! The afternoon was so enjoyable there were requests to do it again. We left with our very own laminated place mat.

We encourage residents to meet with the team to be well informed about care and support in their home even before it is needed. The team is happy to have a coffee and chat with residents. Arriving at the clubhouse for the Noyea Christmas in July dinner was in stark contrast to the cold and gloomy weather outside. The fire burned brightly on the large TV screen providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Carol, our social convenor, along with her team of willing helpers, had set up the room to reflect a bright and cheerful Christmas theme. The overwhelming feedback confirmed it was one of the best nights at Noyea for some time. Jack, the evenings entertainer, sang his heart out for us. With a repertoire ranging from melodies from crooners of yester year, to beating it up to Abba and other similar groups (which got folk up on the dance floor having a ball) to his finale. Jack sang his version of “Nessun dorma” with such a powerful voice that had everyone clapping enthusiastically in appreciation. Thank you to everyone who contributed to ensure the evening was such a success.
