Last work trip for the year! ✈️

Grateful for the opportunity to share our research in lymphoedema with the international plastic surgery community through the Global Partner Initiatives at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual Meeting.

The PSTM is always a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and explore the latest innovations from medical technology and device companies. Excited to hopefully see some of these new technologies reach Australia soon!

Grateful to the Solventum team in Latin America for the opportunity to be part of the Meet the Expert education program. It was inspiring to connect with local surgeons and share experiences on optimising closed incision wound management.

Looking forward to returning to LatAm again in the future to continue expanding educational programs and fostering diverse learning opportunities for the medical community.

Just made it back in time for the final day of the ASPS Plastic Surgery Congress in Sydney to present our experience with prophylactic lymphatic reconstruction in breast cancer patients undergoing axillary clearance at Austin Health.

Our cohort of 23 patients has shown promising results, and with the launch of our new screening program, we hope to detect early subclinical lymphoedema and offer timely intervention to halt its progression.

Grateful for the opportunity to share this work and connect with local colleagues again.

Had the most incredible month with the Department of Plastic Surgery at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. Truly grateful for the opportunity to learn from one of the world’s leading centers in lymphedema surgery—witnessing firsthand the cutting-edge techniques, multidisciplinary collaboration, and dedication to improving patient outcomes. Quick trip to China for the 1st Shenzhen Lymphoedema Workshop — an amazing program showcasing so many advances, especially in head and neck lymphoedema and understanding of how brain lymphatic dysfunction may lead to the development of Alzheimers. Grateful for the opportunity to catch up with my mentor, Professor Yixin Zhang from Shanghai, and reconnect with friends and colleagues from around the world.
