Is your child’s handwriting slowing them down?

At Hope Kids OT we use the DASH 2 Assessment to help us understand handwriting speed, legibility, fluency and coordination so we can pinpoint what is really going on. Sometimes difficulties are not obvious at first glance.

The right assessment leads to the right support for your child ✏️

Hope Kids OT x The Indi App 🤝

At Hope Kids OT, we believe therapy does not stop when the session ends. That is why we are excited to partner with .indi.app , a platform that helps families and clinicians stay connected between appointments.

⭐️Our clinicians will be providing clinical insights to help shape how the platform supports families and clinics.

With Indi app, families can log progress in real time:

👉🏻Share wins, challenges, videos and notes from home or school across the child’s healthcare village
👉🏻 Built-in AI tools can help organise reflections and track progress over time.

For clinicians, this means better visibility into a child’s world outside the clinic helping therapy become more informed, responsive and personalised.

At Hope Kids OT we believe thoughtful technology can strengthen collaboration and support better outcomes for children and families 💛

The future of healthcare is evolving and we are excited to be part of it ! 🚀

“Learning first occurs as a part of emotional interactions.”
— Dr Stanley Greenspan, DIR Floortime

Before children learn new skills, they learn through connection. When a child feels safe, understood and emotionally supported, their brain becomes ready to explore, communicate and grow. This is the foundation of DIR Floortime, where development is supported through meaningful relationships, shared attention and playful interactions - and that’s where learning begins 💛

💕Hope Kids OT celebrates International Women’s Day - not just the women we see today, but the generations who has shaped the world before us and the girls who will shape the future.

💕From little girls discovering their voices…
to women navigating work, family and purpose…
to grandmothers carrying wisdom, resilience and history.
Every generation of women supports the next.

💕We honour the mothers, grandmothers, teachers and clinicians who nurture, guide and empower children every day. The encouragement, patience, strength and the belief in a child’s potential are so crucial in shaping who they will become tomorrow.

💕When we support women, we strengthen families.
When we empower girls, we shape the future.

Happy International Women’s Day to the women across every generation who care, lead and uplift others ! 💞

Let’s clear this up 👇

A regulated nervous system does not mean always calm.
It also does not mean constant highs and lows.

Regulation means flexibility. Feeling stress. Recovering. Returning to baseline.

That is what we support in paediatric OT 💛

Occupational Therapy intervention supports your child as who they are using a strengths based approach.
Our neuroaffirming approach values each child’s unique way of thinking, moving and feeling. 💚

Did you know Medicare may help cover OT for your child?

If your child has a complex neurodevelopmental disorder or an eligible disability they may be able to access occupational therapy through Medicare. This support was previously known as Helping Children with Autism or Better Start and the same Medicare rebates still apply.

Under this plan children may be eligible for up to 8 assessment sessions and up to 20 therapy sessions per lifetime, including occupational therapy.

Speak with your GP about a referral to a paediatrician to see if your child may be eligible. This support can make a meaningful difference 💛

Wondering if your child is ready for toileting?

Readiness is not about age or pressure. It’s about noticing a combination of signs that show your child is developing the skills they need. Staying dry longer showing interest and following simple instructions are all part of the picture.
