🎸 After Metallica’s incredible night in Melbourne… our inbox has been overflowing.
More than ten people have reached out today, anxious after the concert -describing a ringing or buzzing sound in their ears that hasn’t stopped since.

That sound is called tinnitus and after loud music exposure, it’s often temporary. It usually settles within 48 hours as the auditory system recovers.

If it doesn’t fade after two days, please see your GP and ask for a referral to an audiologist specialising in tinnitus, or contact our clinic All Ears Hearing in Mount Waverley on (03) 9886 7157 to book a tinnitus appointment.

To ease the discomfort, try sound enrichment — play gentle nature sounds (like ocean waves or a soft waterfall) at a pleasant, low level in the background. This helps the auditory system stay calm and supported while it settles.

👉 Metallica, your music has brought so much joy to so many.

Please help us reach your fans who might be feeling scared right now — just by sharing this post so they know what to do if the ringing doesn’t stop.

Not all sounds are just heard.
Some are felt.

When a sound enters the ear, it doesn’t stop at the hearing centre — it travels deep into the brain’s limbic system, where emotions, memories, and safety responses live.

That’s why…
🔹 A sudden noise can make my heart race.
🔹 A gentle tapping can feel unbearable for someone with misophonia or hyperacusis.
🔹 Even ordinary sounds can trigger anxiety, panic, or exhaustion.

This brain–ear relationship is called Auditory–Limbic Mapping — it’s the science behind why sound can feel so emotional and overwhelming.

In our clinical work, we bring together audiological science, psychological science, and neuroscience — because sound sensitivity isn’t just about the ear. It’s about the whole person.

When these sciences come together, we see transformation — calmer nervous systems, safer sound worlds, and people finally feeling understood.Every time, it feels like witnessing healing in real time.

If you’re struggling with sound sensitivity, tinnitus, misophonia, or hyperacusis — know that you’re not alone, and there is a definite way forward .

Changing the Narrative of Tinnitus

We are grateful to Marius for allowing us to share not just his outcome, but also his journey. It takes courage to speak publicly about something as personal and distressing as tinnitus — and in doing so, Marius is helping to change the long-standing narrative that “nothing can be done.”

In only six weeks, his tinnitus has improved by around 75%. This progress reflects the impact of consistent, evidence-based holistic care, but also something equally important: the power of full commitment.

Successful outcomes are possible when patient compliance is matched by clinician compliance. Marius has given his 100% and in return received the same from us — and together that has made the difference.

Stories like this are not just about one person’s healing — they are instrumental in changing the narrative of tinnitus care for everyone.

Changing the tinnitus narrative starts with partnership — patient and clinician, side by side.

After years of suffering from severe hyperacusis, this patient travelled all the way from Sydney to begin Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) with us.

He had lived with constant sound sensitivity and discomfort for far too long—but today, he’s heading back home feeling hopeful, empowered, and finally on the path to recovery.

Before he left, he recorded this short message for others going through the same struggles.

If you or someone you know is dealing with hyperacusis, know that help is available—and healing is possible.

Audiology is the branch of science that studies hearing and balance disorders. It was born to address the hearing needs of World War II veterans due to the noise-induced hearing loss many of them sustained during the war.

Audiologists get trained across many disciplines including anatomy, physiology, auditory electrophysiology, acoustics, psychophysics, neurology, and psychology.

Our audiologists have extensive medical experience and provide comprehensive care.

Please feel free to call us on 0398867157 if you need help for your unresolved hearing issues, tinnitus, sound sensitivity, blocking sensation in your ears , no benefit from hearing aids and much more.
