Cheers to more inclusive reproductive health and improved fertility care in Australia.
Especially during this time of global unrest where reproductive health is being challenged, as seen overseas in what’s been perceived as the most “developed” nations.

Thank you Nilsha & Arosha for the giant bouquet of flowers. It has been such a delight looking after you throughout the whole journey, and meeting your beautiful mum as well. I will never forget the big hug she gave me, and those happy tears as Yashwin was born 😍🥹
The entire Create family is rejoicing with you 🩷 (everyone except baby Yashwin from the looks of this snap 😂)

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025 .

I know your feed will be bombarded by posts about this day, but I’m not about to spout some catchy slogan or post photos of some cupcakes.

I would like this post to go on my grid to remind us all of how far we’ve come in term of gender equity and equality, and how far we haven’t come.

It’s a day to pause, and commemorate the strong women (and supportive, strong men) who have inspired us, raised us, made a difference in our lives, who continue to support us women in achieving all that we didn’t think was possible.

It is also a reminder to never stop fighting for what we believe in, especially in today’s society where global reproductive rights have taken a turn for the worse, where women’s health conditions are regarded as “made up”, where domestic violence is on the rise, where sexism and harassment is still present and tolerated in the workplace.

Today serves as a reminder that everyday should be International Women’s Day, not just another ‘fluffy’ corporate event to mark on your calendars. Live it and action it.

Monash University Mentor Week has kicked off again for this medical year. We have forth year medical students shadow us for a whole week, to understand better what we do, and what life is like being an ObGyn and a fertility specialist.

I was allocated the lovely .t who sat in with my consults, examinations, procedures, surgeries, IVF etc. She stayed late for 2 evenings, as we had surgeries that ran till about 7:30pm or so. And was so punctual the next morning to my IVF scans and consults. We even managed to sneak in some baby cuddles.

I hope you had a lovely week .t. Life as an ObGyn & fertility specialist is crazy hectic, but also majorly rewarding. I hope you will consider the specialty in the future 🫶🏻

So you’ve had your embryo transfer. What now? The TWW (two weeks wait) starts.
I received some questions after my last post about preparations for an ET and what to expect after ☺️

Firstly, it is safe to p*e and empty your bladder. You do not need to lie down have your legs up for an hour 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

You can return to work or normal activities, although some will choose to take it easy for the rest of the day.

We generally advise you to continue medications you’re meant to be taking eg: progesterone, aspirin etc. It is safe to administer vaginal medications. 💊

Try not to drastically increase your core body temperature too much as there are limited research linked to increased adverse pregnancy outcomes. Hence we generally discourage hot baths, hot springs and intensive exercises like F45 or HIIT. 🥵

Continue to practise healthy lifestyle choices, like eating a well balanced diet high in antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties. ✅ Avoid alcohol, ci******es and other illicit substances. ❌

Look after yourself like you would if you were pregnant. And last but not least, resist the temptation to check too early as some medications could cause a false positive result (trigger injections)😉 After all, It’s called the TWW for a reason 🙈🙈

Hoping for your BFP (big fat positive 👊🏻😍) xx

Did you know that we have mentor week where medical students shadow us for the whole week, to enable them to gain insight into our daily work life?

But on top of that, we usually have Year 10 and Year 11 students doing work experience as well, to encourage them to get into STEM pathways, and to give them ‘real life’ insight to “Life in Medicine”.

I don’t think many realise how hard we work, and how much juggling we do everyday, in managing emergency situations within our daily schedules 🤪.

But a career in medicine and women’s health is so truly rewarding 🩷🫶🏻 Hope you had a great week, Jaden.

So honoured to be invited to a clinical meeting at .mujer Barcelona last week. The small group discussions and knowledge sharing was great. We discussed novel stimulation protocols, and the intricacies of various frozen cycles. All with the aim of improving clinical outcomes.
We also got to tour their IVF laboratory and theatre complex. Thank you for the warm hospitality and the longggg lunch (true Spanish style! 😅😂)
I also sneaked all the daylight hours I had to see the touristy parts of Barcelona ❤️
It was a whirlwind trip across the world literally 🤣 Work calls!! But I’ll be back! .nikos

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, father-figures, fathers-to-be, fathers in waiting.

It took me awhile to decide to do this post, cause it seems a little cliche, but I thought about it, and decided that I really wanted to pen my thoughts.

I wanted to dedicate this post to my dad, who’s one of the strongest person I know. He’s worked hard, and overcame hardships to give us all that we have today. He is a sensitive soul who loves animals (I think I got that trait from him), and they always seem to gravitate towards him. All our doggies at home were fostered by chance because they found they way into his home, and his life.

People always say that animals are the best judge of character - and I couldn’t agree more.

I love you dad 🩵
