Part 2 of update! Offseason is uncomfortable.. pushing my body to new territories.. my body has NEVER been this weight before. Update on coach Josh’s offseason! Part 1 Goal: get BIG without getting fat.. sounds simple right? I approach the offseason as serious as my prep. I believe that this is the most crucial time to be dialled in! Why? If you’re not taking your offseason as serious as your prep then you will get EXPOSED on stage! In the back of your mind when you’re standing next to someone who has put in their 100% and you know you have not been 100% with your training, nutrition and rest.. it SHOWS! The not so glamorous side of a bodybuilding prep.
Although achieving an extremely low body fat percentage for stage looks fu***ng awesome, I’m here to tell you that it is not a reflection of a sustainable physique nor does it reflect optimal health. There is only a small proportion of the year that we maintain this state of leanest, and it requires weekly and daily monitoring, particularly towards the final weeks coming into show. A reverse diet, which follows the show, primarily focuses on restoring health markers back to there most optimal state.

Every prep comes with its challenges but it requires resilience and a relentless attitude to push through. Standards over feeling ALWAYS! I have my purpose and I am SO ready to beat my last years physique 💪🏼 Coming into the 9 weeks out mark. Let’s get it!!!

To often we fail to see that we have power over our thoughts and actions. You make conscious daily decisions that lead to certain outcomes.

Start to master your mind. Failure to do so and you will remain the same or worse go backwards!

Just like a muscle, mastering your mind takes daily exercise. Allow yourself time each day to properly analyse your decisions and make sure they are consistent in reaching your goals.

The grind continues for coach Kat getting nastier each week but is absolutely thriving with the challenge!

Nothing worth achieving ever comes easy. It takes sacrifice, discipline, determination and standards over feelings. Especially when you have low food, low energy and you still have to train, get your steps in and work a 13 hour day!

We have only the will never to be mediocre!
