Thought it was time update you all on life and what services I will be offering for the remainder of the year.

On Easter Sunday we welcomed our 4th girl into the world (I will share my birth story in the coming weeks) so for now I am allowing myself to bond with baby, and just sit in my postpartum recovery taking things very slowly and only doing what feels right for me and my family at this time.

So for the rest of this year I will be offering antenatal support and postpartum support as of June (this will look different to previous as I am breastfeeding) at this stage I will not be attending any births as I can not be away from baby for long periods. Once I am back to attending birth I will definitely let you all know but at this stage it won’t be until next year.

I can’t wait to share with you my birth story and continue to support all mums in any way I can’t wait.

Jayde xx

I often get ask what a session looks like, I forgot to video this session but I did get a photo before we started.

My general set up is resources that I feel may be useful for the session these include books, rebozo, pamphlets. I also have a fresh tea (today was a pregnancy blend of nettle, ginger, chamomile & peppermint) and of course water and my computer so I can write anything down or show them anything that I have.

This setup will change depending on how far along the client is and what we are talking about during that session. All sessions are very client led we may have a few topics we definitely want to chat about but it’s all very relaxed and if our conversations lead to other topics I just let it flow.

Here are my 2025 postpartum ins & outs....

Honestly I could have made a long list of these but decided to keep it short and sweet so lets go through them.

Ins
5:5:5- mums should be doing this at a minimum if she can do it for longer that is amazing. Basically the rule is mum stays in for 5 day, no getting up to get food, drinks, entertain people ect its all snuggles in bed being waited on. 5 days on the bed, this is where mums start to get up a little bit but still very much on the bed allowing her body to rest and heal while bonding with her new baby. Finally is 5 days around the bed so she starts coming into the common rooms of the house but still allowing her body that time to rest and recover while being close to baby.

No visits unless mum wants them there, sorry dads but you don't even get a say in the visitors. Women have so many hormones in their bodies, they have just birthed a human and are now responsible for this baby all while trying to heal, bond with baby and find their new normal. If mum says no to someone visiting whether that is family or friends that is the end of conversation.

Nourishing meals & drinks, there is alot of things going on for women postpartum nourishment is so important. We want warm, wholesome foods and drinks to aid in that recovery as well as help with milk supply.

Outs
Expecting mum to "bounce back" eww no we are past that. Mum has just gone through one of the biggest transformations of her life, we are not adding any extra pressure for mum to look or feel a certain way for society.

Unsolicited advice, I promise if a mum wants you advice she will ask you. If you are not directly asked by her just keep it to yourself.

Self comparison needs to stop. Most women don't feel or look how they expected and that's ok. We all experience our own postpartum journey and we do not need to compare it to someone online (lets be honest we only see photos or 10 seconds of someone life online, that simply isn't the truth)

These are my top 3 ins & outs forn2025!

A delicious Mediterranean gnocchi, lentil tray bake going into the over for a beautiful postpartum mumma who wants something lighter and fresher but still nourishing her body.

It will be served on some baby spinach and topped with feta and fresh herbs.

It's so important during pregnancy to slow down, listen to your body and rest when you need it, yet so many women feel like they can not or should not slow down. So this is just your friendly reminder that its ok to slow it down especially during the holiday season in the Australian heat.

Slow down, enjoy your pregnancy and take them moments to acknowledge everything your body is doing right now xx

From my family to yours, I hope you all have a love filled Christmas and a blessed New Year.

In the New Year changes will be happening on our end as I start to slow down and prepare for baby number 4 to make their arrival. So stay tuned for the changes ahead.

Absolutely outrageous

The Taliban has banned Afghan women from studying midwifery and nursing, one of the last educational paths available to them. This decision is devastating on multiple levels. For many women, midwifery represented a rare opportunity to pursue education and employment after being excluded from secondary schools, universities, and most professions since 2021. It also deeply impacts Afghan women’s healthcare, as midwives have historically played a critical role in childbirth, especially in conservative societies where women often prefer or require female medical professionals during delivery. On top, childbirth often served as a moment for women to come together and support each other. The Taliban’s decision strips away not just education but also these moments of solidarity. This comes after recent restrictions that have forbidden women from speaking in public and with each other. This is another step in completely stripping Afghan women not only of their human rights and voices but also of their female power. This is not ok!
