Care Collective Central West

Care Collective Central West Welcome to The Care Collective Central West! Care Collective Central West is created with your Autonomy at the forefront.

We provide supports and services to people living with a wide range of disability and mental health diagnosis, and their families. We are passionate about supporting our clients to reach their own unique goals and have extensive knowledge in helping you to access the funding and recourses to make these goals a reality. Care Collective Central West (previously Central West Recovery Coaching) was founded by myself, Hannah Lamont in 2020 after noticing the astounding demographic of people in our community struggling to find tailored supports to suit their needs, as well as a lack of knowledge among participants and providers alike around how to access and utilize much needed funding and supports under NDIS. This has resulted in misused funds, wasted time and many frustrations for participants and their families, as well as a lack of choice and control. Many people have struggled to find a provider and model of support that works for them, who can also help them to learn to manage their NDIS plan, connect to providers and encourage choice and control. We believe that one size does not fit all and are focused on creating a community where people are not just a number. We value our relationship with our local Allied Health providers and NDIS Local Area Coordinators, and pride ourselves on our collaborative approach and ability to create a wrap-around support team for our clients. We offer a range of support types and can help you connect to other funded and mainstream supports including Support Coordination, Psychosocial Recovery Coaching, Mentoring and Peer Support, in home, community and 1:1 support. Our vision is to change the belief system that you must fit the service and help to create services that fit YOU! If you, or someone in your life is in need of these supports, please feel free to contact us on:

🌻🌷🌼 Long but much needed post ☺️ 🫶
How blessed we are to have the families we work with place their trust in us to support their loved ones as if they were our own family members 🩷

Support Coordinators and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches are the backbone of the NDIS.
We advocate fiercely and fight endlessly for the rights of the participants and families we support🥊
Without these supports, families (and especially participants without any family to speak of) would be stuck with an NDIS plan, and no way to know how to use, understand, or implement it.

In the ever changing world that is the NDIS, support coordinators and recovery coaches are on the front line of all of these grim changes. So much so, that many organisations have closed their SC departments, incredibly valued SC and PRCs are leaving the role by the masses, and the participants are the ones who are suffering 😔

To end my rant..
Among all the failures of a system, intended to 'help and not harm' people with disabilities, we must ALL celebrate the wins! 🫶
However big or small they may seem to anyone else, the families who's lives are changed for the better, who can now let go of the worry and stress of things like, "what will become of our son/daughter when we are no longer around to care for them?" and many other similar scenarios..
You need to remember, YOU did that! YOU fought for these people, you didnt give up, and they will be incredibly grateful for the peace you have bought them through the fight you have won for them💞

And sometimes, you'll get flowers 🥰

Remember: CELEBRATE THE WINS!! 💜💛🩷

❌️ More on the Thriving Kids Program‼️ Cutting access to children's essential supports and much needed, EVIDENCE BASED, early intervention under the guise of 'transitioning' to this 'accessible' mainstream community based program.. One small issue.. This program has not yet been developed, nor is there any transitioning period. Therefore this is not yet accessible to the hundreds/thousands of children being affected NOW! 😔

So… the entire design of Thriving Kids is being decided in THREE meetings.
Three. Meetings.

This massive reform will reshape early-childhood disability supports for hundreds of thousands of children, yet the advisory group (which notably lacks any disabled voices) plans to finalise its “design” by early December.

This not only does not meet Australia’s obligations under Article 4(3) of the UNCRPD, which requires governments to closely consult and actively involve Disabled People’s Organisations in decisions that affect us; it laughs in the face of the purpose of DPROs.

Three closed-door meetings and a rushed inquiry is a car cry from co-design.

Children deserve better. Families deserve transparency. Disabled people deserve a seat at the table and open, transparent consultation.
