🌻🌷🌼 Long but much needed post ☺️ 🫶
How blessed we are to have the families we work with place their trust in us to support their loved ones as if they were our own family members 🩷
Support Coordinators and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches are the backbone of the NDIS.
We advocate fiercely and fight endlessly for the rights of the participants and families we support🥊
Without these supports, families (and especially participants without any family to speak of) would be stuck with an NDIS plan, and no way to know how to use, understand, or implement it.
In the ever changing world that is the NDIS, support coordinators and recovery coaches are on the front line of all of these grim changes. So much so, that many organisations have closed their SC departments, incredibly valued SC and PRCs are leaving the role by the masses, and the participants are the ones who are suffering 😔
To end my rant..
Among all the failures of a system, intended to 'help and not harm' people with disabilities, we must ALL celebrate the wins! 🫶
However big or small they may seem to anyone else, the families who's lives are changed for the better, who can now let go of the worry and stress of things like, "what will become of our son/daughter when we are no longer around to care for them?" and many other similar scenarios..
You need to remember, YOU did that! YOU fought for these people, you didnt give up, and they will be incredibly grateful for the peace you have bought them through the fight you have won for them💞
And sometimes, you'll get flowers 🥰
Remember: CELEBRATE THE WINS!! 💜💛🩷
