NSW First Aid

NSW First Aid Providing nationally accredited First Aid Training, NSW First Aid delivers the professional and cont NSW First Aid started on the 21st of January 2006.

Our original purpose was to fill a gap in local First Aid training - there was no training available. Our business was designed as a part-time operation with courses running 3 or 4 times per year as needed. From that first course held at the Mudgee Rugby Club we never stopped and have grown into a full time operation providing a range of First Aid, WHS, Fire Safety and Rescue courses both from our dedicated training facility in Mudgee and to customers all over the state with on-site bespoke courses. Close to 10,000 students have taken advantage of our skills and training methods in the past 11 years trained by a qualified Emergency Medical Technician and WHS specialist. Our expertise in pre-hospital trauma, emergency response and WHS systems dates back to the mid 1980’s with a wealth of hands-on practical experience and a vast network of industry experts at hand. Our training services very quickly extended to providing event paramedical services for a range of events from local sporting matches to political rallies, carnivals and fetes, motor racing events, off road contests, polo, aviation shows and more. Our purpose-built training facility in Mudgee also boasts a large workshop and clean room where we assemble thousands of First Aid kits ranging from belt pouch snake bite kits through to site-Ambulance and Medical Rescue packs with diagnostic equipment, oxygen, medications and clinical supplies. Our workshop is also equipped to:

- Repair and carry out scheduled servicing of Oxygen Resuscitation systems
- Repair, maintain and service Defibrillators and ECG equipment
- Test & Tag all Working-at-Heights equipment (including cleaning & repairs)
- Load Test and certify WAH Anchor Points
- First Aid kit and Emergency Rescue equipment servicing and restocking
- Fit-out and equip Ambulance and Rescue vehicles

We are proud to provide our training and rescue services to a large range of groups including: MidWestern Regional Council, NSW Dept of Education, NSW Police Force, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Farmers Association members, Peabody Mining, Glencore Coal, Yancoal, Downer Mining, Idemitsu Mining, Bowden Silver, a large number of mining support companies, Child Care providers, NRL & NSWRU, many large and small industrial businesses, small retailers, hotels and motels, disability support providers, employment agencies and the list is growing all the time. We rarely advertise our services, we pretty well rely exclusively on word of mouth and returning customers so if you’ve enjoyed using our services, we’d love your recommendation. If you want to know more about us, find someone who’s been here, ask them. We’re pretty confident they’ll be happy to recommend us.

Best laid plans... and all that!

Any course we do with manual handling / patient lifting, we always use Bob, our 90kg manikin. For a good reason.

Recently, our Remote Area First Aid participants were learning how to create an improvised litter for overland transport.

As you can see, Bob took a floggin'. Always best to make mistakes in training, learn from them and share the knowledge.

PS: Bob's OK.

The ultimate accessory for your Trauma Kit has just landed. Hand-crafted by skilled artisans, our First Aid Gnomes have been working overtime to bring the THIRST AID Stubby Holder to life.

Crafted from lay-flat 4mm laminated open cell foam, the THIRST AID Stubby Holder could just be the final piece of essential equipment to add to your kit making you Rescue-Ready.

None of this bulky, space-consuming tubular Stubby Holders held by lesser mortals, this lay-flat device can be tucked into (insert preferred space here) for an instant emergency response where chilled, life-saving vital fluids are required.

Amazing how the Gnomes managed to design, weave, fold, massage, print and produce this gem for only 5 bucks!

Just $5 and you're rescue-ready.

Even better, it comes free with all orders over $200.

Good morning all. If you’re a member of the brilliant GoodSAM Community volunteering to save lives you may have received their Christmas newsletter this morning.

It may be obvious but we think it’s important to point out that this email originated in London, England which is the home base for GoodSAM.

All references to NHS, rescue, phone numbers and links are meant for a British audience and whilst we encourage you to follow the links to learn more about GoodSAM, never forget, Australia-wide, 000 is your emergency response number. That won’t change.

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Millthorpe Christmas Markets, hundreds of stalls, thousands of visitors, good thing they stationed us next to the train track. There were so many kids riding the train anything could have happened! So, so so much on offer, so many happy faces, a huge event. Loved it.

NEW DATE ANNOUNCED FOR DISABILITY FIRST AID!

Our next course for disability workers and carers will be on Saturday 6th September.

This is a very full day of training for anyone in lives, works or is looking for work in the Disability Care arena.

Course cost is $265, bookings are essential as course numbers are limited due to the equipment used during the day. Participants must hold a current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011) issued no more than 12 months prior.

Call us on 1300 766 120 or email training@nswfirstaid.com.au to secure your spot.

DEFIBRILLATOR RECALL NOTICE

A world-wide recall notice has just been released for later models of the Heartsine Samaritan PAD range of AEDs (as shown).

Units manufactured from 2021 to 2024 are affected. You can easily check your year of manufacture (YOM) by looking at the serial number (small sticker on the back of the AED) which has "SN" followed by 2 numbers-1 letter-then a series of numbers. The first 2 numbers before the letter indicate the YOM - 23B means your AED was manufactured in 2023. The letter is irrelevant, just the first 2 numbers.

If your Heartsine Samaritan PAD of any model was manufactured in 2021 / 2022 / 2023 / 2024, then it is subject to this recall.

We are currently going through our database and will be contacting all customers who have bought these units from NSW First Aid and providing advice on what to do next.

Advice from the manufacturer is "DO NOT REMOVE THE AED FROM SERVICE" until further information is made available. As soon as more details are released, we will be contacting our customers with additional information.

If anyone has concerns about their AED, please call us direct on 1300 766 120 or 0417 683 069. Remember, do not remove your AED from service, AED recall notices are issued as soon as any problem has been identified anywhere in the world. The problem that has been identified may not actually affect your device. We won't know until further information is released.
