Our original purpose was to fill a gap in local First Aid training - there was no training available. Our business was designed as a part-time operation with courses running 3 or 4 times per year as needed. From that first course held at the Mudgee Rugby Club we never stopped and have grown into a full time operation providing a range of First Aid, WHS, Fire Safety and Rescue courses both from our dedicated training facility in Mudgee and to customers all over the state with on-site bespoke courses. NEW DATE ANNOUNCED FOR DISABILITY FIRST AID!

Our next course for disability workers and carers will be on Saturday 6th September.

This is a very full day of training for anyone in lives, works or is looking for work in the Disability Care arena.

Focusing specifically on illnesses and injuries, emergency management, evacuation planning, communications and physical handling of anyone living with a disability, this is a valuable skill-set that goes above and beyond normal everyday First Aid.

Nationally Accredited (11270NAT), this certificate level course will give you the confidence to deal with difficult emergencies and protect those we love who need that extra care.

Course cost is $265, bookings are essential as course numbers are limited due to the equipment used during the day. Participants must hold a current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011) issued no more than 12 months prior.

Call us on 1300 766 120 or email training@nswfirstaid.com.au to secure your spot.

DEFIBRILLATOR RECALL NOTICE

A world-wide recall notice has just been released for later models of the Heartsine Samaritan PAD range of AEDs (as shown).

Units manufactured from 2021 to 2024 are affected. You can easily check your year of manufacture (YOM) by looking at the serial number (small sticker on the back of the AED) which has "SN" followed by 2 numbers-1 letter-then a series of numbers. The first 2 numbers before the letter indicate the YOM - 23B means your AED was manufactured in 2023. The letter is irrelevant, just the first 2 numbers.

If your Heartsine Samaritan PAD of any model was manufactured in 2021 / 2022 / 2023 / 2024, then it is subject to this recall.

We are currently going through our database and will be contacting all customers who have bought these units from NSW First Aid and providing advice on what to do next.

Advice from the manufacturer is "DO NOT REMOVE THE AED FROM SERVICE" until further information is made available. As soon as more details are released, we will be contacting our customers with additional information.

If anyone has concerns about their AED, please call us direct on 1300 766 120 or 0417 683 069. Remember, do not remove your AED from service, AED recall notices are issued as soon as any problem has been identified anywhere in the world. The problem that has been identified may not actually affect your device. We won't know until further information is released.

Our brand new Disability First Aid course went off as planned, a very successful day with great feedback.

The next course is scheduled for Saturday 15th of March.

If you work in Disability Care or are a carer for a family member with a disability, this course is a must-do for you. It will answer all your questions about how basic First Aid isn't enough training to manage emergency issues with people who live with disabilities, communication difficulties, feeding issues or choking in the wheelchair or bed-bound.

How do you recognise and manage Autonomic Dysreflexia, developing infections, end-of-life plans, emergency evacuations and communicating with emergency services and much more.

Because of the equipment involved, course numbers are limited so get in early. Call 6372 3888 or visit the web www.nswFirstAid.au for more details.

Now available! LifeVac Choking Rescue Device.

We've taken many queries from customers who saw this product on TV in late 2023. A simple yet effective hand-held, un-powered suction device to rescue choking victims.

Due to the enormous response from the TV presentation, the LifeVac has been next to impossible to get a hold of but they are now in stock and ready to go.

Ideal for restaurants, child care or schools, disability and aged care services or even self-rescue, check them out on our website www.nswfirstaid.au/product-category/firstaid-products/choking/

Just brilliant!

Cash remains King at NSW First Aid. Standard 5% discount now applies to all transactions paid with cash.

As banks make running a business harder and being a customer more expensive, we've decided to fight back in our own little way.

We will never penalise anyone with a fee for using EFTPoS, we know the modern economy has given you little choice.

What we will now do is offer a permanent 5% discount to anyone who pays in cash. Pay your account in cash, pay for training, retail or event services in cash, it'll always be a 5% discount.

Make a change, offer your retailer cash if they provide a discount. They can only say no, or maybe yes. Stuff the banks!

Today, a local lad becomes the newest member of our team. We welcome Russell to NSW First Aid. Russell will be in charge of First Aid kit assembly and our packing room.

Only one downside to Russell's first day, he wore his South Sydney supporter's shirt which had to be covered for decency. Soon we'll train him in the finer art of supporting Manly!

Welcome Russell!
