The cause of your chronic gut issues won’t show up on standard lab tests 🔬⬇️
I’ll never forget the time I went to the GP with a long list of symptoms, including gut pain, chronic bloating & severe constipation.
I’d already been diagnosed with celiac disease years earlier & had been sick ever since then.
The doctor ran standard bloods, & told me I just had “functional dyspepsia” (a fancy medical name for chronic indigestion)… duh?!
They had NO tests that would give me answers to my chronic issues.
Years later, I would get functional testing done & find out I had SIBO (a bacterial overgrowth), pancreatic insufficiency (low enzymes & stomach acid), and a liver condition + hypothyroidism that they MISSED despite it being on the test results.
And I see this with patients time and time again.
They are told all their labs/bloods are normal.
That everything is fine.
That they are just stressed.
There is nothing wrong.
The thing I wish more women knew is that…
Most health issues (esp gut issues) WON’T show up on standard blood/medical tests.
It’s functional problems that are the cause (like gut bacteria) & that needs *functional testing*.
Why? 👇
1️⃣ In most cases, GP tests are not super helpful. Unless you’re at the stage of having a clinical illness that can be found on their tests (usually not the case).
Drs are great at finding diseases that have lab markers, damage to tissues, growths etc.
But not *functional* issues.
2️⃣ Drs don’t have access to functional tests, like gut microbiome testing, SIBO testing, in depth hormone/cortisol tests, heavy metal/mineral analysis etc.
3️⃣ Drs don’t have time to do the in-depth questioning to find the cause.
There are REAL answers to your symptoms.
The most common functional testing we use is gut microbiome testing and SIBO testing.
We can see exactly what is going on inside your gut & find what is causing your gut issues.
This testing is what I do with patients in my 1:1 Happy Gut Program - our Complete Testing Package includes both of these tests 🎉
