“Today was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have as trainers.” – Tim Atkins

Tim, one of our outstanding trainers, shared this moment from his day:
“This morning, in the car park at Virgin Tech, I was greeted by a former student I’ve had the privilege of teaching over the past six years. He approached me with a firm handshake and a big hug, and then shared something deeply moving.

He thanked me for all the training I’d delivered - especially CPR. Recently, his father suffered a cardiac arrest at home. Because of the training he’d received, he was able to perform CPR until the ambulance arrived. His father survived, and the paramedics told him he had done an excellent job.
Moments like these remind us that what we do goes far beyond the classroom - it truly can save lives.”

We loved training the Nexstage crew this week for their Vertical Rescue Training.

Last week, our Brisbane Live Fire Training Academy turned up the heat as a national client’s team took on one of Australia’s most realistic ARFF training environments.

From live-fire aircraft scenarios to smoke-filled fuselage rescues - this is hands-on, high-pressure, and unforgettable training.

Big thanks to David Peachey for delivering another powerful, high-impact course.

This isn’t box-ticking. It’s training that builds confidence, capability, and leadership when it counts.

October Wrap-Up: A Month of Milestones for FSA

What a month! October was one of the biggest and most exciting times of the year for our Fire and Safety Australia team.

We were proud to sponsor and attend four major safety and emergency response events across the country - each one celebrating excellence, teamwork, and innovation in safety.

Events included:
• NSCA Safety Awards
• WHS Foundation Safety Awards
• Tasmanian Mining Emergency Response Competition (TMERC)
• South Australian Mining Emergency Response Competition (SAMERC)

Each event brought together incredible people who share our passion for safety, leadership, and emergency response.

A huge highlight was seeing Dean McHardie, FSA NSW Training Supervisor, receive the Adjudicator Award at TMERC after ten years of service. Such a well-deserved recognition of Dean’s expertise and contribution to the industry. 👏

Our CEO Steve McLeod also attended three of these major events, connecting with industry leaders, clients, and our amazing team members nationwide.

A massive thank you to everyone who represented FSA with such professionalism, energy, and pride. You continue to strengthen our reputation as Australia’s leader in safety and emergency response training.

October was all about connection, recognition, and teamwork — and we couldn’t be prouder of what our people achieved.
