Cikitsākrama – An Exploration Of Yoga And Āyurveda Based Interventions in the Management of Illness

The KYM is happy to partner with senior Vaidya-s from the Institute for Āyurveda and Integrative Medicine (I-AIM), Bengaluru in bringing to you a monthly interactive study group on Yoga and Āyurveda approaches to specific ailments.

Each session will present a brief overview of the pathology associated with a specific condition, the Āyurvedic approach to management of that condition, and the corresponding Yoga approach for discussion (select case studies will be used only if required). Please note that since Cikitsā from both the Āyurveda and Yoga perspective is highly individualised, there will be no prescriptive directives or disease-based protocols given.

My expertise is in the yogic techniques to intervene and upgrade our mental and physiological 'software': particularly pertaining to our thought and breathing patterns and how they fundamentally influence our lives.

BACKGROUND
Yoga became my sanctuary amidst the relentless pace of a global technology career. From my very first class, I was captivated by a profound sense of renewal and clarity. This sparked a deep curiosity, leading me to explore the reasons for the subtle, yet significant shifts it was fostering in my body, mindset and habits.

TECH TO TRANSFORMATION
Today, my journey has come a full circle. Where I once guided organisations through business transformation using technology, I now empower individuals to create lasting personal change. With over 3,000 hours of experience, I specialise in personalised yoga practices - whether in a remedial setting, or Yoga professionals ready to explore the deeper practices of Yoga.

Motivated by the accessibility and endless adaptability of Yoga to meet the needs of the individual, my work extends across various communities:

Those magical minutes before sunrise are classified as ‘Brahma Muhurta’ in Ayurveda and is the ideal time to be awake and practise Yoga. Creative intelligence is at its peak. Walking, mediating, immersion in these 96 minutes is optimal. There is a sense of nature awakening. Air is clean with a high level of prana/life force in the atmosphere. Mind is better able to sit in peace. Biological clock recharges. Magic, realisations happen. You become the creator of your day. Hell, even your life.
