The power of the mind to direct our attention and energy is often the most over looked and under utilized power we have.

Creating a Sankalpa is a great way to steer or direct us towards what we really want in life.

It is a wonderful tool in Yoga that enables us to harness our willpower and to focus the mind.

Often used as part of Yoga Nidra (a guided pratyāhāra practice) or meditation. It allows us to utilise the power of the mind whilst it is relaxed and more receptive.

But we can also repeat our resolve/Sankalpa anytime...Upon waking before we go to bed or throughout the day. The more we repeat it the more energy we give it to allow it to shape and direct our outlook in life.

A regular practice in Yoga πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ has many benefits for our nervous system.

Our life experiences and the stresses we face in today's modern world can trigger many health issues.

So it really is important to have a self-care routine and to have tools to bring us back into balance.

Yoga as a holistic practice offers so much to support the health of body/mind. With the nervous system in balance we can operate from a much calmer and clearer space of mind.

Whether you are new or have tried Yoga before I would love to welcome you into a class one day soon πŸ™β™₯️ πŸ•‰

If you seek peace, be still. If you seek wisdom, be silent. If you seek love, be yourself.”
- Becca Lee

Yoga helps us in cultivating all of the above.

Through mindful movement connected with breath we find our center where we become steady and still.

Through pranayama (breathing practices) we develop our ability to meditate and find silence along with self acceptance.

If you long to experience any of the above join me for a Hatha Yoga class this week.

Our Story

Elements of Yoga offers classes in the Mundaring area that are suitable for beginners and experienced students of all ages and stages in life. Classes are non-competitive and taught by Harishakti (Helen Dobbie) a fully qualified Yoga instructor of the Satyananda system of Yoga. Within this tradition of Yoga we aim to develop the whole personality through Asana (postures) breath-work (Pranayama) and various meditation techniques. Practices taught stem from the many different branches of Yoga such as Hatha, Raja, and Mantra to allow for a wholistic approach, so as to address the needs of the body, mind and to assist in developing an awareness of our spiritual nature. Harishakti first began teaching Yoga in the community in 2001 whilst studying to become a certified teacher with FINY. Since this time she has run regular classes in community halls, taught in Health clubs, schools, within the work place, at the Women's prison and in the privacy of ones home. At present she offers General classes at the Mundaring Wellness Center as well as beginner courses. Private tuition is also available on request for those with special needs or that maybe wanting to develop a home practice. If you are looking to learn techniques to help you relax or are wanting to gently stretch and strengthen your body then these classes are for you. https://www.mundaringwellnesscentre.com.au/user/elementsofyoga.wagmail-com/
