😣 Mouth ulcers giving you grief? They’re small, painful sores that pop up inside your mouth — and while they’re common, they can be seriously uncomfortable.
What to know:
• Mouth ulcers (also called aphthous ulcers or canker sores) affect about 1 in 5 people
• They often appear inside your lips or cheeks, on your gums, tongue, or the floor of your mouth
• They usually heal on their own within 1–2 weeks
What they look like: A shallow sore with a white or grey top and a red border. They can appear alone or in clusters.
What can help:
• Numbing gels
• Saltwater mouth rinses
These can ease pain and help reduce the chance of infection.
When to see a doctor: If your ulcers are very painful, keep coming back, or aren’t healing, it’s worth getting checked.
A little care can make a big difference to your comfort while they heal. Stay well!

🦠 Simple steps to protect yourself from viruses
Keeping yourself and others healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. A few everyday habits can make a big difference.
🧼 Wash your hands
Clean hands are one of the best ways to stop germs spreading. Wash often with soap and warm water, or use an alcohol‑based hand sanitiser.
🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes
• Use a disposable tissue or your inner elbow
• Throw tissues in a closed bin straight away
• Wash or sanitise your hands afterwards
🏡 Stay home if you’re sick If you’re unwell, rest at home. Viruses can be serious for young children, older people, pregnant women, Aboriginal people and those with chronic conditions. Keeping your distance (at least 1 metre) helps protect others.
🧽 Keep surfaces clean
Regularly clean things you touch often, like:
• Phones
• Door handles
• Toys
• Keyboards
Warm water and detergent work well. Avoid antibacterial cleaners, as overuse can make germs resistant.
💉 Get vaccinated
Vaccines help protect against serious illness caused by many infectious diseases, including those spread by viruses.

🎸 Lead exposure isn’t the kind of “heavy metal” anyone wants in their life.
But with the right knowledge, you can crank up the awareness and turn the danger way down.
⚠️ Severe lead exposure is now extremely rare in Australia The real long‑term threat comes from low‑level exposure that builds quietly over time. Think of it as the slow, grinding riff you don’t notice until it’s taken over.
🛡️ The good news? Simple steps — keeping dust down, washing hands, and taking care during renovations — can help you stay safe and keep the “heavy metal” where it belongs: in your playlist, not your body.

Winter Wellness Starts Now! As the weather cools down, it’s the perfect time to give your health a little extra attention. A few simple habits can make a big difference in staying strong all season long.
💉 Stay up to date with recommended vaccines to help protect yourself and those around you.
🥗 Fuel your body with nourishing foods—think colourful veggies, hearty soups, and plenty of whole grains.
🧼 Keep healthy hygiene habits front and centre by washing hands regularly and covering coughs and sneezes.
🏃 Stay active, even if it’s indoors. A quick home workout, stretching session, or brisk walk can boost your mood and immunity.
💧 Drink plenty of water It’s easy to neglect hydration when the weather becomes cooler because we think our body doesn’t need any more water.
Small steps add up. Let’s make this winter a healthy one ❄️💪
