It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post. Some weeks ago we lost our beautiful Kelpie boy Oscar. He was my best friend, my co worker and soul mate. Oscar was diagnosed with an agressive cancer that took him from this world far too soon. Oscar was given short term treatment so he was pain free...we spent his last days making sure he was surrounded by and showered with everything he loved in life...people, doggy friends, food, snuggles and swimming. Oscar I am sure will be missed.

October is Sexual Violence Awareness Month.

Over 65 victim-survivors participated in nine workshops across Queensland, from Logan to Cherbourg to the Tablelands, producing art reflecting the Sexual Violence Awareness Month theme: Stronger, Wiser, Survivor: Uplifting the voices of victim-survivors every day, every month and every year.

This original artwork captures the strength, fortitude, dignity and the deep trauma of victim-survivors and evidences the importance of them having a voice that shapes and improves the way our community responds to sexual violence.
