All Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community members are invited to come along to our Close the Gap Open Day.

📅 Thursday 19 March 2026
⌚11:00am-3:00pm
📍Murray Bridge Country Health Connect (CHC), 96-104 Swanport Road (just past the hospital)

The Day will give community members the opportunity to come together, learn more about our services, and explore ways we can support and enhance your health and wellbeing in a culturally safe and appropriate way.

You will also have the opportunity to meet and talk with community and allied health staff from CHC and the Aboriginal Health Team.

The day will include a ngopun yarli (walking road), starting at the CHC entrance, where community members can walk through the service at their own leisure and chat with allied health professionals (AHPs), nurses and Aboriginal Health staff.

You will also have the opportunity to learn more about recruitment opportunities for Aboriginal peoples in the region.

No need to RSVP, just drop-in! We look forward to seeing you there!

Our final Flood Recovery with Sophie Thomson event was action packed, with a bus trip that showcased everything and everyone that our beautiful region has to offer.

We started at Mary Ann Reserve then travelled to:
🛠️Murray Bridge Men’s Shed – to see their amazing setup that provides connection for so many
🦆Sturt Reserve for morning tea with Sophie’s amazing cakes, and a coffee delivery from Grazing for Dayz
🐝Big Bend Look out to reflect on awe and the beauty of our environment with Bronwyn Paynter - Nature OT. Bronwyn also provided us with prompts throughout the day to reflect on nature!
🥗Lunch at the Swan Reach hotel – great views and great food
🌻Blanchetown Community Garden which was impacted by the floods and has had an amazing community help rebuild
and
🪺Meldanda, a wonderful place to spend visit with so much to offer showcasing conservation and environment.

Thanks to everyone that joined us on the day, we hope that you had a wonderful time and were inspired by nature with ideas to create in your own gardens.

Special thanks to Sophie, whose passion for natural disaster recovery, people, gardening and our planet has shone through over the last 2 ½ years. We appreciate everything you have done to make these events impactful for those attending.

It was a privilege to join the communities of Purnong, Caurnamont & Districts Progress Association Inc., Sedan, Walker Flat, and Blanchetown for some Christmas cheer on our Beautiful Bogan Christmas road trip.

Marc Ryan The Beautiful Bogan brought the laughs with a healthy dose of vulnerability, connection, hope and an important message about looking out for our own and others mental health this Christmas.

Thanks to everyone that joined us, we loved the chats and community spirit, a great lead in to a busy and sometimes stressful Christmas period.
