Yesterday we said a very big – and very bittersweet – farewell to our wonderful Cheryl.

Cheryl has been part of the Solid Foundations team since April 2021, and in that time she has brought so much heart, calm, kindness and competence to our team. She’s supported our families and each of us behind the scenes with her sparkling personality and beautiful spirit.

We are so grateful for everything she’s poured into our team over the years. Her warmth, her care, her reliability, her heart – all the little things that made every day better. She’s helped us grow, adapt, survive the chaos, and celebrate the wins… and we’ll always be thankful for the mark she leaves behind.

Cheryl, thank you for your dedication and for being such an important part of our story. We wish you every joy and success in your next chapter. You’ll always have friends here, and you will be so very missed.

Please join us in sending Cheryl all our love and best wishes for the road ahead. 💛

What It Means to Be a Registered NDIS Provider

At Solid Foundations Allied Health, being a registered NDIS provider isn’t just a label - it’s a commitment. Registration means we voluntarily meet rigorous national quality and safety standards, hold ourselves accountable to independent audits, and operate with complete transparency in everything we do.
For our participants and families, registration provides:
• Trust & Safety: You can be confident that our clinicians, processes, and environment meet strict compliance requirements assessed by external auditors.
• Quality Assurance: Our services are measured against the NDIS Practice Standards, ensuring evidence-based, person-centred, ethical practice.
• Transparency & Accountability: From reporting to recordkeeping to service delivery, every aspect of our work is held to the highest standards.
• Protection & Safeguarding: Registered providers follow mandatory safeguarding frameworks, worker screening, complaints pathways, and incident management processes.
Passing our fourth consecutive NDIS audit reflects our dedication to doing things properly - with integrity, consistency, and genuine care for the people we support. Thank you to everyone who helped us get there, this time and every time.

Lives are changing and hope is rising on Ngarrindjeri Country! The Nra:gi Ya:yun (really good food/eating) diabetes remission program is wrapping up and moving from on-the-ground delivery and data collection, to bringing the results together and sharing the findings.

The program links traditional Aboriginal knowledge of good food with real-time glucose and ketone skin sensors, and the latest in diabetes science.

The team from the Riverland Academy of Clinical Excellence (RACE), Flinders University, Australian Teletrial Program - South Australia (ATP-SA) and iCCNet SA have co-designed the program with Ngarrindjeri Elders and lived-experience consumers.

📷 Pictured: Some of the team and participants gathered at Moorundi Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service to celebrate how the program has improved the lives of Aboriginal people with diabetes and pre-diabetes, reduced their need for medication, and created a sense of community agency to make a difference.

Exciting brag! We were recently invited by the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency to hold a stall and deliver a presentation at the Springboard 2026 event at the Adelaide Convention Centre, where Directors Judy and Barry proudly represented Solid Foundations Allied Health. Our stall was amazing, and Judy spoke beautifully about what rural allied health really looks like on the ground.

While the turnout wasn’t quite as plentiful as we had hoped, we want to acknowledge the incredible effort from every stallholder who showed up, set up, and stood strong. It takes commitment to fly the flag for rural communities, even when the crowd is small. The reality is, rural recruitment is hard. People often assume working in metro areas is “easier” or “better” but our region has real need, real opportunity, and real people who deserve high-quality care close to home. Against all odds, we continue to do everything we can to provide services where they’re needed most, with only the very best staff by our side.
We’re incredibly grateful and proud to be a small team of dedicated professionals who show up every single day.

A huge thank you to RDWA for their ongoing commitment to strengthening the rural workforce. Their support, opportunities, and partnership make a real difference in helping practices like ours keep moving forward. We’re grateful to work alongside an organisation that understands the challenges and champions rural health with heart.
Here’s to showing up. Here’s to community. And here’s to keeping rural allied health alive and strong no matter what.

Please take a moment to watch this important message from Judy.

Ideally, this information would be coming directly from the changemakers - but sadly, it isn’t. The Government has blindsided Australians with massive proposed cuts to the NDIS, and it’s vital that we all understand what’s at stake.

We believe this information deserves to be shared widely and discussed openly. Please watch, share, and help us make sure the voices of people with disability, their families, and their support networks are heard.

🌟 Meet Alex – Our Speech Pathology Student! 🌟
We’re thrilled to introduce Alex, our wonderful speech pathology student currently completing her placement with Solid Foundations Allied Health! 🎓✨
Alex has joined our team to gain hands-on experience supporting children and families, and she’s already been making a fantastic impression with her warmth, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning.

We love giving future speechies the opportunity to learn in a supportive, real-world environment and we know our community will give Alex a warm welcome too! 💛
👇 Let’s get to know Alex! 👇

Q: What inspired you to study speech pathology?
A: My son did 2 years of speech pathology with two amazing ladies who helped him a lot. They made it all seem so simple, but when I tried to do it myself to help my son using a website for parents, I realised there was a lot more to it than there seemed. While I have been studying, it seems like everyone I speak to has a story about how speech therapy has helped them or someone they know, and that helps keep me inspired.
Q: Tell us about your career / education to date?
A: My first degree was in languages, and I spent some time in Japan teaching English as a second language. I found I loved teaching individuals or small groups but a whole classroom is something else. I take my hat off to school teachers!
Q: What was day one like?
A: Day one was actually pretty chilled and it was great to meet everyone and get to know them a bit. Everyone seems to like a good chat and was really friendly - thanks!
Q: What’s something you’re looking forward to learning more about?
A: I'm really looking forward to learning more about how I can support First Nations children in particular - it seems like Judy has a lot of experience with that so I hope to learn lots from her.
Q: If you could specialise in any area of speech pathology, what would it be?
A: Actually, rather than specialise in any one area, I would really like to be more of a generalist and help people of all ages in lots of different areas. I think it will be more of a challenge and keep things really interesting.
Q: What’s your go-to comfort food or favourite way to unwind after a big day?
A: I can't say no to chocolate! I also love reading to unwind and escape from the rest of the day.
Q: What’s one fun fact about you?
A: I don't know about a fun fact...I do like to try new things. For my last big birthday (I won't mention which one it was!) my partner gave me a sky dive. That was awesome and something I'd love to do again!
Q: What’s one thing you’re most looking forward to learning while you’re here?
A: I'm looking forward to learning about everything - there's so much to learn and experience. I guess one thing is that I'd really like to learn more about helping people with AAC.
