As many of you know, Big K and I are proudly hosting a Charity Quiz Night in Mount Barker this November to raise funds for the Australian Amyloidosis Network—supporting patients, families, and vital research into this rare cancer.

To help make the night a success, we’re looking for donations of goods, vouchers, or services to include in our raffle and silent auction. Every contribution, big or small, will help us raise more funds and make the night extra special.

🌸CARERS WEEK 2025🌸

During the week of October 12th - 18th, we are taking time to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of carers in our community. Carers often go above and beyond in supporting their loved ones, and their role can be both rewarding and deeply challenging.

One of the hardest realities we see as a disability support provider is that formal disability supports cease as soon as a person passes away. This can leave families and informal supports navigating not only grief, but also the complex and overwhelming task of finalising a deceased estate.

To help ease this burden, we have teamed up with Sage Executor Solutions to provide carers with information and guidance around deceased estate planning. Having a plan in place can make a world of difference when the time comes, giving families peace of mind and reducing the stress during an already difficult period.

Carers give so much of themselves every day. During Carers Week, we want to not only acknowledge their dedication, but also equip them with tools and knowledge to feel supported now and into the future. 💜

🌸INCLUSIVITY AT THE ROYAL ADELAIDE SHOW🌸

I have been working with the wonderful Owen from Show Lockers to arrange a large mobility scooter for the Royal Adelaide Show for a participant of mine. Owen has confirmed today that he has a mobility scooter (180kg weight capacity) in stock to hire at the Royal Adelaide Show. They usually only stock small and medium-sized mobility scooters.

I wanted to share this news, as if you support anyone who has mobility issues and requires this kind of mobility scooter at the Royal Adelaide Show, it is available. You can hire it from Sat, 30 August 2025 – Sun, 7 September 2025 (excluding the 4th September) for $110 per day.

The more that hire it, the more this can be an annual occurrence, and I get to see more people be able to access such a wonderful event. 🥰

Little Blossom Support wishes each and everyone of you who donated to the walk a mile in my boots fundraising event. As a team, we raised $600, which is an awesome effort knowing we can help some of South Australia's most vulnerable people. 🥰

🌸ORIGIN OF LITTLE BLOSSOM SUPPORT NAME 🌸

I remember when I was a teenager receiving a bookmark that had my name 'Chloe' and the meaning of 'Fresh young blossom'. I found it quite a beautiful meaning, with lots of semantic richness. The idea that we are young, we have fresh ideas and that we show our beautiful selves - quite like flowers blossoming.

It was a no-brainer when I was thinking of business names, that I knew I wanted to use 'blossom', I just needed it to flow nicely - hence the introduction of ✨Little Blossom Support✨

It's crazy to think that so much time has passed, but it's still very early days. Here's to 2.5 years of Little Blossom Support. 🙌

🌸Walk a mile in my boots🌸

We've just joined Hutt St Centre for the Walk a Mile in My Boots Challenge from 4–10 August to raise funds for more than 7,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia this year.

We would love for you to support us and our efforts to give back and help end homelessness.

Every dollar raised helps Hutt St Centre provide access to essential well-being services like meals, showers and laundry facilities as well as access to professional services like medical support, health clinics, and financial and legal advice. Our fundraising efforts will also help provide access to emergency and longer-term accommodation, as well as help to develop the confidence and skills to become work-ready.

🌸LITTLE HEROES FOUNDATION🌸

Little Blossom Support was fortunate enough to attend the annual gala for the Little Heroes Foundation. This not-for-profit organisation is focusing their efforts on raising much-needed awareness and funds for childhood dementia. A severely under-funded and under-researched disease that is affecting an estimated 700,000 children worldwide.

The gala was a beautiful way to see the South Australian community come together and raise funds, and appreciate the efforts that the Little Heroes Foundation team are doing.

🌸Benefits of Yoga 🌸

Here at Little Blossom Support, we are big on ensuring that our mental well-being is just as strong as our physical well-being. Yoga is a great way to improve both physical health (like flexibility and strength), whilst also improving mental health (like reducing stress, slowing down and supporting emotional resilience).

The cool thing is that there are lots of Yoga practices to choose from - whether it be slow and deep stretches and breathing, fast-paced and flexible movements, or even chair-based yoga. There really is something for everyone!
