Today we’re swapping our scrubs for pyjamas all in support of The Pyjama Foundation and their incredible work helping children in foster care build brighter futures through literacy, education and mentorship.

What a big couple of days! Huge thanks to Antonio and the team at NAILD IT Constructions PTY LTD -it’s hard to believe how much they managed to do in such a short period of time. We look forward to welcoming our patients back bright and early tomorrow morning.

A little before and after photo to show just some of the work that was performed:

We're renovating.

From tomorrow, Thursday 15 September until Sunday 20 September we will be closed.

We will be back on Monday 21 September with a more functional and welcoming reception.

With the disruption to the electricity and the inability to use our reception area for patient and staff safety, there was really no other way than to close for a few days.

We have tried to minimise the disruption by organising the builders over the weekend.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

To the vandal/s who damaged our hot water system and created a blackout last night we would like to express our disappointment in your actions and make you aware that as a consequence we have had to discard our vaccines that expired without refrigeration.

It is a minor inconvenience for us and the costs will be covered by insurance, but it is a major inconvenience for the families of babies and small children booked for their childhood vaccinations and the elderly who require the Flu, Covid and other vaccinations. I hope they are safe until we can restock and rebook them for their appointments.

If you have a problem please contact us directly and have a conversation, this kind of action hurts the community more than us.

If you have any idea who might have been involved please inform the police who are investigating this incident including reviewing the security camera footage on 131444.

If you are pregnant please consider COVID vaccination. Pregnant women are at increased risk from severe illness from COVID-19.

The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) have reiterated the importance of COVID-19 vaccines.

Pregnant women who have not yet had their first, second or booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine are being urged to get their jab as soon as possible.

RANZCOG President Dr Benjamin Bopp said: “Vaccines are safe and protection from COVID-19 is incredibly important for pregnant women and their babies.”

“Please get vaccinated and get your booster whenever it’s due. Any time. Any trimester.”

ACM President Professor Joanne Gray said: “COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women is safe and effective. Ensuring vaccination is up to date is the best way to protect mothers and babies against severe illness from COVID-19 infection."

"With high rates of COVID-19 in the community, protecting ourselves through vaccination is more important than ever.”

Professor Gray and Dr Bopp encouraged pregnant women to speak to their midwife or doctor about COVID vaccination.

About

For safety and privacy reasons we cannot give medical advice online, so posts and messages have been disabled. If you have any medical concerns we are more than happy to see you in person at our rooms. Obviously, if it is a medical emergency, please dial 000 or, if safe to do so, proceed to your nearest Emergency Department or Medical Centre.

Castle Hill Medical Centre was opened in 2001. It has been serving the community and training junior doctors since that time. It has grown as the surrounding area has grown and now has 10 doctors working a mixture of full and part-time, including 5 female doctors. We have an onsite QML Pathology Collection Centre and a mixture of Allied Health Services. We also work closely with Harding’s Pharmacy and Complete Feet Podiatry which are both co-located within the complex. There is ample off-road parking. We also offer a range of services including, but not limited to, Child Health and Vaccinations, Chronic Disease Management (eg Diabetes, Asthma, Heart Disease), Minor Operations, Wound Management, Women’s Heath, Skin Cancer Treatment and Pre-Employment Medicals.
