Welcome Dr Geetha.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Geetha Kannapiran will be joining Medical Matters on Monday 16th June. Geetha has broad clinical experience and enjoys all aspects of General Practice, but in particular Women's Health, Chronic Disease Care and looking after young families.

Geetha is passionate about getting to know her patients and providing them with holistic care. She has worked extensively in Melbourne and Brisbane.

As you may be aware three new menopausal hormone therapies (MHTs) are now available on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). These are:

Estrogel (estradiol)
Prometrium (progesterone)
Estrogel Pro (estradiol and progesterone)

Yaz and Yazmin contraceptives are also included.

If you currently have a private script and would like to switch, please call our reception team on 3164 6000 and Dr Caroline will call you and organise a new PBS script for you. No need for to make a specific appointment.

PATIENT NOTICE

Like many businesses we review our costs and prices at the end of the year, and as our overheads increase, we will be making a small increase to our fees from Monday 6th January to help us maintain our high levels of medical care. That increase will be around 5%.

This means that a standard 15-minute appointment will now be $93.50 with a Medicare rebate of $42.85.

Children under 16 and concession card holders will still be bulk billed. As will DVA patients for their appropriate conditions.

A full fee list can be seen on our website from Monday.
