BOWEN ARROW Soft Tissue Therapy

BOWEN ARROW Soft Tissue Therapy Certified Bowen Therapist I am a certified Bowen Therapist and Registered Nurse. What is bowen Therapy?

I have been in the health industry for over 25 years, with a focus on preventative health with a passion for using non invasive techniques to promote the body to heal itself. Bowen Therapy is an effective treatment that uses rolling moves that are made on muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. These moves impact the entire body, stimulating the body to begin a healing and adjustment process. The Bowen moves restore the body’s balance from fight/flight mode, to rest/relax mode, reducing the body’s pain response. Muscles and the connective tissue fascia adjust, as the body begins to return to it’s natural blue-print and restore alignment. Bowen Therapy triggers the muscles to begin to correct themselves. Calming the nervous system to assist pain reduction, and helping muscles and posture/structure via the body’s connective tissue, results in fast improvements. Problems that respond well to Bowen work include:

– injuries and chronic pain
– back pain, stiffness and sciatica
– postural issues such as scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, sway-back, and “text-neck”
– upper back pain and lower back pain caused by injury or sitting at desk and poor posture
– neck pain, including that caused by whiplash
– pelvic imbalance or tilt, and uneven leg length, often impacting gait
– hip, knee and ankle pain
– recovery after surgery

Sports performance can also be enhanced through ensuring a balanced body with improved muscle mobility.

Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) affects about 15-20% of people and is typically a symptom of another problem such as an ear injury or circulatory disorder. Since the reasons for tinnitus vary widely, so too do the potential treatments. While certainly not a cure, there is a technique from Qigong called "Beating the Heavenly drum" that offers temporary relief to about 50% of the people who try it. Here's how to do it.

1. Place the palms of your hands over your ears so your fingers wrap around the back of your head.
2. Set your middle fingers on the top of your neck right at the base of your skull.
3. With your palms over your ears, try to hear your pulse.
4. Put your index fingers on top of your middle fingers and apply pressure.
5. Now snap your fingers on the back of your head over and over like you’re drumming, in sync with your heartbeat. Do this for about a minute.

Give it a shot. It just might help!
