In Australia, the peak influenza season typically runs from June to September, coinciding with the winter months. However, it’s important to get the flu vaccine at any time during the year. Influenza can circulate year-round, and vaccination helps protect against the virus, especially during off-peak periods when people may be less aware of the risk.
The vaccine is updated annually to protect against the most common strains of the virus for that year, so getting vaccinated each year is essential for optimal protection.
We will have both government supplied and private vaccines for those aged 5-64 who are not eligible for the funded vaccine.
Private Vaccines are $20.

Brook Medical Centre has the highest level of accreditation and is committed to being a quality training facility for doctors and students. We have been awarded "Practice of the Year" for NSW by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Situated in the heart of the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley region, surrounded by vineyards and thoroughbred horse studs, we are a well established practice which has been running for over 50 years.
We are currently staffed by eleven full time and five part time doctors. There are four female doctors available.
Brook Medical Centre Doctors provide comprehensive General Practice Care, including emergency treatment, Obstetric Care and Surgical Services.
We can offer same day appointments for acute care.
Suturing and wound care are performed on site in the minor ops room.
Blood can be collected with urgent investigations able to be done at the premises, with results within an hour in some situations.
X-ray, CTs and ultrasounds are available in our rooms with facility for some urgent same day appointments where indicated.
