🌿✨ Welcome Participant Sivanart Marich to the 1st Edition of the Australian Massage Championships! ✨🌿

Sivanart’s wellness journey began 15 years ago with Reiki healing, first learning to heal herself and then others. Over the years, she has trained extensively in massage, spa beauty therapy, Chinese medicine, remedial massage, and myotherapy, supporting clients with chronic pain and injuries.

With training in over 100 professional courses and currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Acupuncture Therapy, her focus also includes mental health, women’s health, and chronic health conditions.

At the Championship:
🌸 Wellness Category: Sivanart will present Zen Massage — a unique fusion of energy healing, crystals, singing bowls, Reiki, and aromatherapy for deep relaxation and healing.
🌸 Freestyle Category: She will showcase her ability to blend techniques from deep tissue, sports, remedial, myofascial release, stretching, and cupping or needles, tailoring each treatment to the client’s needs.

My wellness journey commenced with personal healing, transforming pain into healing, and subsequently, passion. This passion has now evolved into healing others.

From humble beginnings as a solo therapist in a small room at the back of my house, my practice has transformed into a fully-fledged wellness centre, expanding to new locations. We have achieved remarkable growth in just five years, and I am extremely proud.

I extend my gratitude to everyone who has entered my life, teaching me valuable lessons, and to the challenges that have shaped me into the person I am today and will become in the future.

My message today is to rise above adversity, just like the lotus flower, which continues to grow and bloom in the most challenging environments, ultimately showcasing its beauty to the world.

Is Qigong and/or Tai Chi enough for daily exercise or do we need to do other exercises?

Dr Roger Jahnke answers...

Tai Chi and Qigong are gentle, low-impact practices that offer deep benefits, especially when done regularly. Qigong is accessible to those who are sick, fragile, or elderly, making it a wonderful daily self-healing practice. If you're healthy and strong, you might wonder whether you also need more strenuous activities like running or lifting weights. But in today's busy, overstimulated world, many of us are already running on empty. That's why practices that restore energy and calm the nervous system can be such a gift.

While cross-training with other exercise styles, or even adding something as simple as walking, can certainly be beneficial, it isn't always necessary. It really depends on your goals. Here, Dr. Jahnke offers a comprehensive perspective on this topic:

"According to Chinese tradition, Tai Chi and other forms of Mind-Body practice — Qigong — along with a healthy lifestyle are enough. Traditional thinkers in Chinese Medicine feel that Tai Chi and Qigong are sufficient for wellbeing sustainability — with right nutrition, right rest, etc.

One of my favorite teachers said both aggressive European/American exercises AND Asian calm exercises are very good.

But — if you have to choose one, choose Qigong and Tai Chi. I personally pursue some European style strength training plus Tai Chi and Qigong.

There are many experts from Europe and America that would argue that Tai Chi is not enough. Some experts from Asian would probably argue that Tai Chi is plenty.

Many American and European experts have been surprised at the benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong.

In the end it comes down to what you seek. All exercise produces fuel for metabolism and self-regulatory function.

In western style exercises the fuel gets spent to produce muscle - that is worthy. In Asian style exercises that fuel produces a kind of resiliency. Worthy too."
