Finishing the final touches on a little gift for our wise women attending our Inner Light - Winter Retreat at with Anita. This blend of dried plant friends help to support our nervous system, calm the mind and induce sleep naturally.

We're living in a culture that’s all about pushing forward and getting things done — often at the expense of rest. There's a lot of pressure to keep doing, achieving, producing... and that can really mess with our sleep, especially when we ignore the natural signals to slow down. But the beautiful thing is, plants offer us a gentle way back. Their healing is subtle, but powerful — if we allow ourselves to receive it.

Looking forward to sharing wisdom in circle tomorrow.

Fun today in the kitchen testing a recipe for our upcoming Inner Light - Winter Retreat with Anita . Pumpkin and zucchini muffins - Ayurveda style!

These little babies are a great accompaniment to a warming winter soup. Grounding and satisfying for a nourishing lunch.

The proof will be in the pudding on Sunday when they are served to our wonderful group of wise women.

Love spending time in my kitchen! 🥣🍲❣

Happy full moon and hello to 2025!

How has the start of your new year been?

I have been in slow contemplation mode as I start this year. I have been guided to set my intentions for the year a little more slowly and with less pressure for the exact timing of them. Sometimes I can feel the pressure to set goals and intentions by the clicking over of the calendar and this can feel overwhelming. I have been enjoying the more deliberate thought process that this space has allowed.

Are you still in the process of crafting your intentions or have they already been set and in motion?

I want to welcome you wherever you are in your new years' journey and let you know that I am in the process of creating some new offerings for this year which I will be sharing with you soon.

I am now open again for massage bookings for 2025, so if you feel called to tend to yourself through touch and the healing goodness of Ayurvedic oils, then please feel free to get in touch via DM or call on 0410 461 189.

This breakfast was a Christmas jewel and so easy to make - just a couple of minutes. It's colourful, light - yet satisfying and will bring a smile to anyone at this time of year. Lightly cooked rhubarb (from my own garden 🥰🥰), raspberries and blueberries cooked lightly in ghee, cinnamon, cardamom and star anise.

Great to eat on a warm day like today as the qualities of these fruits are largely sweet and astringent - both of these tastes cool the body.

To make:
Heat 1-2 tsp of ghee in a pan - add cinnamon, cardamom & star anise. Simmer until aroma arises.
Add rhubarb with a little water and cook covered from a minute or two.
Add blueberries and raspberries and simmer for a minute.

I added a tsp of jaggery to sweeten the rhubarb while cooking.

Delicious.

And if you want to give yourself the gift of a massage this Christmas, I still have a few appointments left for December. DM me or call 0410 461 189 to make an appointment.

You are worth it! 🎄🎁🎄

With the spring equinox last Sunday, I can feel the shift as we move from the dormancy of winter to the warmer potency of spring. Can you feel the shift?

This seasonal change in Ayurveda is a perfect time to take stock of our diet and lifestyle to see where we can make changes that promote our best chance for a healthy spring! Over winter, Kapha dosha (water and earth) builds up and we can often feel heavy, stagnant and swollen with congestion and allergies as common symptoms. It's a perfect time to adjust our eating, choosing lighter foods over the comfort of winter favourites. Include leafy greens and warming spices to stimulate and dry the body, helping to cleanse the body of its excess.

If you're not sure what to be eating for the season or gluten is an issue for you, join me for my upcoming workshop on October 13th where we will be cooking up a breakfast storm and chatting all things Ayurveda - only 2 tickets left! 5 out of the 6 breakfast recipes are gluten free options!

How do you nourish yourself at breakfast - what's your go to?

🥣 Toast
🥣 Coffee
🥣 Cereal with milk
🥣 Do you tend to skip it?

Ayurveda's wisdom teaches us that eating a warm, light, cooked breakfast is vital to keeping us functioning optimally - in our bodies and minds. It provides the body with sustained energy, preventing mid-morning fatigue and the temptation to grab unhealthy stimulants to keep us going. Other benefits include:

⭐️ Improved digestion - helping to maintain healthy weight
⭐️ Increased mental clarity & focus
⭐️ Balanced moods & emotions
⭐️ Avoid strong cravings

I commonly hear from clients that they don't know what to eat for breakfast or they don't have time to prepare or cook a meal in the morning.

If this is you, join me for my latest offering - a cooking workshop dedicated to all things breakfast and Ayurveda. Together we will prepare 5 nourishing, quick meals that you can add to your morning routine with ease, setting a strong foundation for your day. You will take home the recipe eBook to continue your inspiration at home.

Sunday October 13th, 10.30am - 1pm at Balance Ayurveda in Myponga.

What a difference 12 years makes! When we bought this piece of land - it had been abandoned for 10 years - there was nothing apart from dry weeds and a cement slab where the old house had burned down.

I couldn't have imagined then what my husband and I would create...and now look what stands here. New life and a new home coming from the seed of an idea planted all those years ago.

Transformation takes more than an idea, it requires consistent action, daily steps that in and of themselves may not seem to make much difference, but cumulatively they create great things. It takes faith and persistence and a conscious choice to move towards what you are aiming for - even when it gets hard.

I have been on a very personal journey of healing over the last 12 months. It has been a deep exploration of parts of myself that I have previously resisted delving into. I am so grateful to myself for finding the courage to look at aspects of myself that have been asking to be healed for a long time. With gentleness, with curiosity and with persistence.

Standing at one end of the journey – its not always easy to imagine where one will end up. I am so grateful for the tools of Ayurveda that provide a daily anchor, a rhythm and container that is strong enough to withhold the messiness of transformation.

Next week I will be sharing with you details about my new in person offering - Boost Your Breakfast - a cooking class inspiring you to create the perfect meal to start your day.
