Performance Saddlefits SA specializes in a broad range of custom made saddles to get an optimal fit.

Nichole is the South Australian part of the nation wide Performance Saddlefits team, a team of highly trained and skilled fitters who either hold qualifications under the Society of Master Saddlers UK or working towards it. She is passionate about finding saddle solutions to suit both horse and rider and enjoys the challenge of the “not so straight forward” combination! Nichole has trained with Ma

ster Saddlefitter Paula Jeffery and is travelling overseas to Italy and the UK to obtain a Society of Master Saddlers UK saddle flocking certification. Nichole has a background in veterinary medicine and is passionate about finding the best solution to optimise both horse and rider biomechanics. With access to a large range of the best saddle brands from around the world, she specialises in custom saddles and usually has all demos available during fits.

Sometimes this is the best job in the world. Sunshine, cheeky ponies, lovely clients.

Other days it's 4am wakeups to travel 1300kms over 3 days and see 21 horses 🤣🐎

Actually... I still love it. BUT I may not respond to messages this weekend. I apologise in advance.

As usual, I'm fueled by caffeine and the chance to make a difference for horse and rider.

Wishing everyone a happy Easter long weekend!
I'm going to be taking a little break from social media over the public holidays to rest and reset. I'm sure many of you have worked out that admin is not my favourite part of the job 😉 and somehow it takes more of a toll than a 13 hour day fitting! Give me a flocking iron and a spicey red mare any day.

If I've missed anyone, feel free to poke me. I'll be officially back in the "office" Tuesday the 7th.

Upcoming availability update:
South East Trip is looking pretty full, I will organise a schedule next week to finalise numbers

The 16th and 23rd are my last fitting days for April, with plenty of spots to fill at this stage. We are taking a little time off to get some jobs done around the property, however, I will still be available for emergencies!

Ongoing availability is much better than it ever has been. With the cost of keeping horses being challenged from every angle (hay prices, fuel prices, cost of living, it never ends!), numbers have certainly dropped off. What used to be a 6 week wait (3 years ago), is now around 1-2 weeks depending on your location. So don't be afraid to reach out!

I've loved working with Southern Cross to create these fender saddles. Their customer service is second to none!
If you're in the market for a fender or western, you seriously need to consider these custom made and Australian made saddles!

Maybe this dressage diva will dig her cowgirl boots out 🤔

The cost of fuel is the talk of the town at the moment, so I wanted to post a little update for everyone.

At this stage, I am resisting any temptation to increase costs to make up for rising fuel prices and choosing to absorb it within the consultation fee.

Owning horses is expensive enough and horse welfare is still my first priority. I would rather keep prices stable to ensure more people can continue to prioritize their horses comfort and budget accordingly.

Currently my prices are as follows:
Initial Consult (Local, 40km ) - $200
(Rural >100km) - $220
Revisit Within 12months - $165 for local, $185 for >40km

Massive shout out to Ultra Tune Stirling for keeping my poor little van on the road.

Monday was cut a little short by an absolutely horrid noise coming from the engine. Those who've been with me for a while will understand why I instantly panicked!

These guys have managed to get me back on the road (again) and in such a timely fashion (despite not having a booking!).

If you're in need of an honest and reliable mechanic, they're worth the drive!

Thankyou to the people who rescheduled without complaint or fuss 🙏 sometimes life happens and it's out of my control.

Nothing better to do on a scorching hot day than stay inside and work on saddles!

It's easy to see why a complete strip out and reflock makes such a difference.

Big Ted is leaping into 2026 in his new Cavaletti jump saddle!

Whilst we're not expecting this big fellow to jump the moon, his owner prioritises cross training to keep his mind and body balanced ❤️

So we've been crunching the numbers and it's only 15 days and 5 hours until I move house!!

I know, it seems like I only JUST moved house but TRUST me, this place is better and has so much more room for saddles 😎

I won't be available for routine fittings from the 23rd Jan to the 9th Feb as I will be taking some time to settle in.

That being said, if you have an emergency, I will do my best to squeeze you in, so just reach out. Since my assistant doesn't have thumbs, please be patient while I surface from underneath boxes to respond to you.

Moving forward into 2026, bookings are looking quite open and I'm able to fit local people in within 1-2 weeks. I'm expecting this to change as we (hopefully) put the bad weather behind us so take advantage while you can.

I will be looking to open up some Saturday appointments for those willing to travel aswell. I do prioritise my weekends with my family and fur-babies but I understand it's hard to get time off work. So, if your horse floats, you're in luck!
