What is an emergency❓
An emergency is any situation that puts your safety at risk, and it can happen at any time.
Emergencies can be;
🌧 Floods
🔥 Fires
🌩 Storms
⚡ Power outages
🏠 Needing to leave home quickly

Emergencies don’t always give us warning. Having a plan helps you stay calm and know what to do.

Matt and Beth were invited to attend the 2026 Queensland Hospitals Education Program conference and expo, held on January 22 and 23.

The conference took place at Somerville House and Queensland Children’s Hospital, with over 170 educators in attendance. Matt and Beth had the opportunity to lead two breakout sessions that focussed on Path Planning, titled: ‘Empowering Student Voice: Using the P.A.T.H Planning Tool to Foster Ownership, Engagement, and Deeper Motivation.’

The feedback we received the following day at the expo was excellent. We hope that the information and experience shared will enhance our efforts within the Hospital School Program, providing students, educators, and families with another tool to create meaningful outcomes.

Australia Day is a time to pause and shine a light on the people who quietly make our beautiful country stronger and more connected, and last night, one of those people was rightfully celebrated.

Kate Dufty has been a long-time friend and supporter of the Central Queensland P2P team, and her impact in Gladstone runs deep. Kate was honoured with an Australia Day Award in recognition of her tireless volunteer work and unwavering advocacy for people with disability to be included, valued, and heard in our community.

Through her leadership and the Disability Community Network (DCN), which she founded, Kate has created a welcoming platform for connection, collaboration and shared voices - including providing opportunities for P2P to share our programs with the wider community.

We couldn’t be prouder to see a local changemaker like Kate recognised. Congratulations from all of us at P2P, Kate - Central Queensland is better because of you. 💙

🌿 We’re officially settled in! 🌿

We moved into our new office in Nambour recently, and we’re loving our new home.

A big thank you to Nate and Narayan from Jim’s Mowing Palmwoods who helped tidy and clean up the gardens; the space is already feeling brighter and refreshed.

Our CEO Jodi recently volunteered at the World DanceSport Federation Brisbane Breaking Festival 2026 at City Hall — and what an incredible event it was!

Featuring world-class breakers from 34+ countries, the festival was bursting with talent, energy and an amazing sense of community. Jodi loved being part of an event that celebrated inclusion, culture and connection on a global stage.

A huge thank you to the organisers, dancers, crews and fellow volunteers who made it such a memorable experience. Brisbane truly shone, and it was fantastic to see support from Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner at this historic event for our city 🕺🔥
