We’re excited to announce that NAYILS will be heading to AniMayhem on Saturday 2nd May!

So… what is AniMayhem? 🤔
AniMayhem is Brisbane’s newest anime and pop culture convention, bringing together anime lovers, cosplayers, gamers, collectors, and fans for an immersive weekend full of fun, creativity, and entertainment. You can expect things like live performances, interactive zones, cosplay competitions, shopping stalls, meet-ups, and so much more!

Single-day tickets are $39.90 (13+ years), with other options available depending on age and packages.

✨ This is an awesome opportunity to experience something different, connect with others, and dive into the world of anime and pop culture!

👀 Spots are limited, so get in quick if you’d like to join us!

It feels like we just got there… and then suddenly, we blinked and the Gympie weekend was over!

One of the absolute highlights was our time at Tin Can Bay, getting up close and personal while feeding the dolphins. Watching the group experience something so special the smiles, the excitement, and those quiet “wow” moments is something we won’t forget anytime soon.

These are the kinds of experiences that stay with you long after the weekend ends

What an amazing weekend our group had on the Gympie Weekend Away! 🙌

We kicked things off Friday night with some fun at the bowling alley 🎳 plenty of laughs and a bit of friendly competition!

Saturday was extra special as we headed out to Tin Can Bay for dolphin viewing 🐬 such a beautiful experience and a highlight for everyone!

We then wrapped up the night with an exciting visit to the Gympie Speedway 🏁 fast cars, great vibes, and an awesome atmosphere!

Before heading home on Sunday, the group cooled off and had a blast at the Gympie Pool & Waterpark, the perfect way to finish off a fantastic weekend!

Congratulations to Tim and Shane on achieving their next belt at tonight’s IAMA grading.

Since 2019, both Tim and Shane have been dedicated and valued contributors to our martial arts community, consistently supporting NAYILS in fostering a genuinely inclusive environment. Their ongoing commitment has played a significant role in strengthening connections between students, staff, and the broader community.

Over the years, they have trained alongside our students with consistency and respect, embracing the adaptive approaches required to meet individual functional capacities. Their willingness to learn, adapt, and lead by example reflects the core principles of person-centred practice and inclusion.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our trainer Anton, who has worked alongside our students over many years. His ongoing commitment, guidance, and support have been instrumental in the development and success of the program and the individuals within it.

Inclusive All-Abilities Martial Arts (IAMA) was established by our students, who have developed and continue to refine their own style to suit their unique needs and abilities. The program was founded following Jason’s recognition of the importance of self-defence within our community, particularly after witnessing his son, Jiha, experience vulnerability. Through ongoing training, discipline, and support, Jiha progressed from requiring a wheelchair to achieving full independence in mobility. Today, he and his peers proudly share their knowledge and skills with others in a supportive and empowering environment.

IAMA—Inclusive All-Abilities Martial Arts—embodies the principle that everyone, regardless of ability, has the right to participate, learn, and succeed.

Tim and Shane’s achievements are not only a reflection of their personal dedication, but also of their meaningful contribution to a program that continues to build confidence, independence, and community inclusion for all involved.
