QTWAV is seeking 10 LGBTIQA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy workers from outside South East QLD to join a Strategic Advisory Group (2024–2027).

Help shape the future of DFSV and gender equality responses in our regional communities.

Expression of Interest: Queensland Regional Workers Strategic Advisory Group 🌈✨

QTWAV is establishing a Queensland Regional Workers Strategic Advisory Group as part of a workforce capacity building project running through to 2027, focused on strengthening responses to domestic, family and s*xual violence (DFSV) for LGBTIQA+, Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities πŸ’œ

They are seeking up to 10 workers across Queensland who:
- Are LGBTIQA+, Sistergirl or Brotherboy 🌈
- Are based outside of South East Queensland πŸ“
- Work in (or have experience in) DFSV, s*xual violence or gender equality sectors 🀝
- Provide support to LGBTIQA+ people experiencing violence 🫢
- Apply an intersectional feminist framework to their work ✊

πŸ—£οΈ The Advisory Group will:
- Strengthen statewide responses to DFSV for LGBTIQASB+ communities 🌏
- Support improved workforce experiences for LGBTIQASB+ workers πŸ‘₯
- Contribute to sector-wide capacity building across regional Queensland πŸ“ˆ

Pride is about celebration, but we know it’s also important to have a space to rest and reconnect. This year, QC, 2Spirits, and LGBTI Community Ageing Network - Sunshine Coast are proud to host a dedicated Chill Out & Elders Space.

Hosted by our community and staff, it’s the perfect spot to take a breather, enjoy a cuppa, and have a yarn.

What to expect:
πŸͺ‘ Comfort First: Plenty of comfortable seating and shade.
β˜• Refreshments: Free tea, coffee, and water to keep you hydrated.
🀝 Connection: Learn more about the LGBTI Seniors Visiting Service and our support for our Elders and Older People.

When: Sunday 29 March | 8 am – 3 pm
Where: Kings Beach Amphitheatre, De Vene Ave, Kings Beach

Whether you're an Elder looking for a home base or just need a moment away from the crowd, our space is open to everyone.
