What a Day at The Wickham! Checking In After Little Gay Day – Keep Looking After Yourself 🌈

The party may be over, but your self-care isn’t! Here’s how to recover after a big weekend:
🔹 Keep Taking PrEP – Stick to your routine for continued protection.
🔹 Hydrate – Alcohol & other substances can dehydrate you, water is your best friend! 💦
🔹 Rest & Refuel – Prioritise sleep and nourishing meals to restore energy.
🔹 STI Testing – Consider getting tested about two weeks post-event, especially if you have any symptoms.

There’s a seat at the table! 🥘✨

We’re highlighting this month’s Longtable Potluck Dinner at the Maleny Neighbourhood Centre. This is a wonderful grassroots gathering, and this month the conversation is centered on IDAHOBIT.

It’s all about standing together against discrimination and building a community where everyone feels safe to "go rainbow", at work, at school, and at home.

When: Wednesday, 13 May
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Where: Maleny Neighbourhood Centre (17 Bicentenary Lane)
What to bring: Please bring a plate of food or some fruit to share with the group.

2Spirits & QC are working with UQ to better understand mpox and vaccine uptake in our communities. By sharing your thoughts, you’ll help improve education, services, and support for LGBTIQA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy people across Queensland 🌈

This survey is open to gay and bis*xual men, other men who have s*x with men (cis and trans), trans women, and non-binary people aged 16+ living in Queensland who have been s*xually active in the past six months.

Our friends at The Maleny Bookshop are hosting a fantastic session for the creatives among our mob! 🏳️‍🌈✍️

In the lead-up to IDAHOBIT, come along for a yarn about Writing and Creativity in the LGBTIQ+ Community. The session features Dr Peta Murray and is a great chance to hear different perspectives and share your own creative journey.

We love seeing local spaces dedicated to our stories!

🌈 Northern Queensland S*xual Health Services & Testing Survey 📝

We’re inviting LGBTIQA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy community members aged 16+ who live, work or play in regional, rural or remote Northern Queensland (from Mackay to Cairns, Mount Isa and surrounding communities) to take part in a short survey.

Participants can also choose to enter a random draw to win a $100 gift card!

Your experiences will help 2Spirits and the Queensland Council for LGBTI Health better understand access to s*xual health services and information in our communities, as we work with our Queensland stakeholders in service planning.

👉 The survey takes 5 to 6 minutes and can be completed anonymously.
