I've had some new clients let me know that there isn't much information about me on my page! Which I can understand some people can feel a bit funny going to a home based business knowing nothing.
So here's abit about me!
First of all my name is Brittany- go by Britt aswell. I grew up on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, originally from Victoria. I finished school in year 10 to study my diploma in beauty therapy- at the start it was just an option to get a certificate under my belt and to get out of school as school just wasn't for me.
My first day of TAFE I came home blabbering away all the things that I had learnt. I was the youngest in my group of around 50 people and ended up graduating with about 20 others. People think beauty is easy, practical side yes - that's all learning. But theory- my god I had no idea I'd be learning about every system in the body, every muscle, bone, how the hair and nails grew etc. I just instantly become in love because I was also learning about myself and I could understand why my body was doing certain things.
In December I graduated and decided I was going back to Victoria for a holiday to celebrate and see family. As some of you know December is one of the busiest periods for this industry.. So I could have hunted around for jobs before I left but I didn't want to put any employers out by saying "sorry I'm going away for nearly a month" in their busiest period. I waited till I got back and applied for jobs. Had some interviews but a lot were for on call positions, casual etc. At the time I still lived at home, didn't have a license because I was still a baby, so on call didn't really work for me as it would have taken me up to 3hrs to get there due to public transport and I'm sure there would have been other people applying that would have suited the job better. So whilst I was still working at Subway, where I was whilst studying etc. I thought - I have a whole set up at home in the spare room when I don't have shifts I will work from home so I was still getting experience. I put together a price list posted on local community boards and was flooded with requests and that's where it all started. In October 2016 I decided to take a leap of faith and go full time for myself and leave subway. It has by far been the best decision I've made.
Since then I have been listed in the top 8 beauty therapist on the coast also. Each and every booking I see come in is a blessing. I never once think "oh god I have to work now".
