ITS RACE WEEK BABY!
Tomorrow I start a 4 day adventure of hills, hills and more hills at Bright 4 Peaks.
I would be lying if i told you training had been anything close to perfect - but I'm simply too excited to care! 🤩🤩🤩 This one has been on my list since 2018 and I'm super keen to get attempt number one under my belt!
4 Days of climbing proper mountains on my lonesome in the Victorian alps, HEAVEN!
I'm not planning on being online too much as I want to be present for the experience, but I'll report back next week.
Have a bloody great weekend everyone :)

Unpopular opinion: EVERY fitness journey should include a dietitian.
Im not usually one to share my meal pics... BUT this is important.
I was feeling flat, flumpy, irritated, low, tired... then I whipped this up.
This food just made me feel AMAZING. And I made it with my dietitian learnings brain thinks.
I knew it would make me feel great because I have learned how to fuel my body. I know what it wants and how to get it in there. I know what I like the taste of and i know the specific nutrient goodness my favourite foods have in them.
I know because I spent about 3 years working intensely with a dietitian, and I regularly check in as my body gets older and my goals change to make sure Im still on track.
To me, a dietitian is like a doctor, but different. A doctor helps you stay healthy when things are broken, a dietitian helps you stay healthy so things dont break.
Learning what your body needs and how to supply it is THE BIGGEST HACK for staying healthy and fit.
Forget seeing a dietitian for weight loss. Like, yeah they do that and they do it well but getting your food right is soooooo much more than that.
It helps you get results from your training.
It helps you regulate all your body systems.
It boosts your metabilosm.
It helps you keep your cycle healthier.
It make life, better!
I dont care that its a bit expensive. You were going to spend that money on stuff that was no good for you anyway.
Make the investment, even if its only a couple of visits.
Getting your food right is 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
All the foods are good foods. Its just about learning when and how much of them to eat ❤️❤️

On the weekend I came third at the SEQ Trail Running Short Course in Pomona.
Yay hooray :)
So let me tell you a story:
The last month has been a beautiful mess. I've had adventure after adventure, and opportunity after opportunity. I feel very fortunate to have a life so full, its been awesome! But as a result I've been feeling pretty darn tired!
It all came to a crescendo (hopefully!) last week when I decided to have a drink with a few of the athletes from Impact to celebrate our time away at the masters games in Canberra.
I'm not really a drinker, and my body is not good at recovering from drinks. So lining up on the start line Sunday i was feeling like a rusty bag of bolts, to put it politely.
So I was toeing the line with all intentions of hanging out at the back of the pack and taking it easy.
But, the countdown started and the gun went off and my body just did the thing. It was odd, because i was, like, not there. But my body just went 'all good I know what to do', and it did it.
So, the message of the story is that you will 100% become what you do most often. If you most of the time are too busy and treat your body like a trash can you will probably get good at drinking and treating your body terribly, and that will become your automatic. BUT, if you spend most of your time doing the work, doing your best, getting the runs in, fueling the body, then THAT will become automatic.
Little habits, day after day, create the person you are :)

Pomona Run Club does SEQ Trail Series Round 2 at Pomona!
Second for Katy in the long course and third for Ange in the short course and a valliant effort in hot conditions for Amos and Ian both in the short course.
Always a fun day out celebrating local trails with likeminded people.

Carlea is a quiet achiever, never complains always does her best and just keeps ticking boxes and stacking bricks in the wall.

Bravo to Ada for her effort at Masters earlier today!
A very close and competitive bout where Ada did a lot of good things and displayed an awesome level of boxing, but in the end today didnt go our way.
At the end of the day, there are two people in that ring and only one of them walks away with the bikkies.
Never a loss always a lesson, Im excited to see what this powerhouse does next ❤️👊
