🧣 It’s getting cold out there. You’re welcome in here.
As the temperature drops and Queensland collectively pretends it knows how to handle winter, I want you to know — my spa is the warmest place in Narangba.
I’m not just talking about the vibes (though those are excellent).
I’m talking:
🔥 Heated room — walk in from the cold and immediately feel your shoulders drop from your ears
🔥 Heated table — because lying on a cold massage table is nobody’s idea of a good time
🔥 Giant heat pack — draped over you like a warm hug you didn’t know you needed

You will not be cold here. I will not allow it.
While everyone else is complaining about the weather, you’ll be horizontal, toasty, and completely unbothered.
Honestly? Winter might just be my favourite season to get a massage. There’s something deeply satisfying about being cocooned in warmth while the world outside is a little bit miserable.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums, grandmothers, stepmums, mums-to-be, and the wonderful women who nurture everyone around them. 💐💖

I was absolutely spoilt today! 🥰 My family whisked me away to beautiful Montville for a gorgeous picnic with breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and the kind of scenery that makes you want to stay forever. 🌿🧺⛰️

My youngest also presented me with approximately 50 handmade cards. 📬💌 I suspect there may now be a nationwide shortage of paper and glitter. Each one was a masterpiece, and every gift from my family was so thoughtful and heartfelt. Oh and they also made me this crazy mud cake thing too!

My heart is very full (and my handbag is now 90% cards). ❤️

I hope all of the beautiful mums in our Crinum Spa Retreat family were thoroughly spoiled today, whether with breakfast in bed, cuddles, handmade treasures, or simply five uninterrupted minutes to drink a hot cup of tea. ☕✨

Today was really hard as a small business owner.

I came into the spa early, prepared a full 4-hour treatment, set up the room, organised products, towels, refreshments, and dedicated my entire work day to one client appointment… only to be completely no-showed.

No message. No call. No cancellation.

Last month, the same appointment was cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, and I chose to let the cancellation policy slide as a gesture of understanding and goodwill. Today, despite reminder emails being opened, text messages being sent, and phone calls being made, there was still no communication at all.

To make matters even harder, the card on file declined, meaning there is currently no way for me to recover the income lost today.

I think sometimes people see a home-based spa and forget there is a real family behind it. This isn’t a hobby for me. This business helps feed my children, pay our bills, cover groceries, school costs, and keeps our household running.

When a small business loses an entire day of income through a no-show, there isn’t a corporation absorbing that loss in the background. It lands directly on my family.

This is a little behind-the-scenes video today of what goes into preparing these long luxury treatments, because I don’t think many people realise the time, care, preparation, and cost involved before a client even walks through the door.

I completely understand that emergencies happen and plans can change. All I ask for is communication and basic respect for the time and effort that goes into running a small business.

Unfortunately, situations like this also mean policies sometimes need to change. Moving forward, all treatments over 2 hours will require pre-payment at the time of booking.

To all of my wonderful clients who do show up, communicate kindly, and support local businesses with respect and care… thank you. You keep small businesses like mine alive. 🤍

I received a voucher for a pregnancy massage and I couldn’t believe the set-up. Not only the spa space itself, but being able to lie on my tummy comfortably was absolute heaven.
