From being on deaths door step, to 6 months later a fat happy Horse full of life! The transformation of Simon was an inspiring journey to watch. Horses can endure so much, and this boy fought for his life for a long time before I rescued him. I’m so glad I did though, he lived another 5 amazing years before he went to Rainbow Bridge ♥️

This poor little fellow was dumped in my street a few weeks ago. Rooster dumping has been way more common lately with many cases seen around the area. Dumped roosters die a slow and painful death, either starving or being picked off by predators. There is options for them! If you know of any stray roosters or have some that need rehoming send me a PM I always have ideas to help them. This guy was one of the lucky ones, I caught him with difficulty and found him an amazing home ♥️ There are 3-4 roosters dumped at Morayfield sports ground that i unfortunately can’t catch as they are too deep in the bush and aren’t tame :(

Just a reminder as I don’t get time to post much. But if anyone in our beautiful community ever needs any triage advice with their pets (sometimes you can’t get into a Vet straight away or aren’t sure how urgent something is), I’m a 13 year qualified Vet Technician which is a bit like a paramedic. I’m always happy to try and help with triage advice or clinic recommendations! ‘Remi’ - 2yo Male Birman

A bit about Remi - When I get to know you I’m an extremely affectionate and loving boy. I get along well with my cat brother so may be okay with other cats with a slow introduction. I love to play and I’m up to date with my injections.
When I first meet people I’m a little shy and might hide and I’m a bit more wary of males but with time and patience I should come around.

Needs:
- At least weekly brushing as I’m a big fluff
- Time to warm into a new home
- Being kept indoors
- Ideally no carpet as my quirky trait is wanting to p**p on the carpet (the reason for rehoming as owner is renting)
- Understanding of typical cat behaviours and allowing time for Remi to settle in

Heartworm is in our area! Make sure your babies are on proper prevention ♥️

WARNING TO ALL DOG OWNERS 💥

Heartworm is in our area with more cases being diagnosed every week! 😞

This horrible parasite is transmitted via mosquitos and subsequently extremely difficult to avoid, prevention is key!

Dogs don’t necessarily show any symptoms of having them but if infected their heart is becoming damaged and treatment is urgent!

Has your Dog:
Had a heartworm tablet every 28 days for the entirety of their life and always been in the correct weight range (1kg under dosing can still allow infection)?
OR
Had the annual heartworm needle from 12 weeks old and never been overdue?

If the answer to either of those questions is NO we highly recommend booking a vet consult to get a heartworm test performed and then to get onto adequate prevention, the best option being the annual heartworm needle.
