Silencito is a pilates and meditation studio on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. Discover the joy of movement with the love of connected awareness.

Silencito is your safe space awarding that ‘little silence’ in life… to move, to breathe, to be your self. It’s a place where you’ll align both body and spirit, and feel cared for by an experienced and skilful mentor. Silencito (see-len-see-toh) is Spanish for little silence. The aim of Pilates at Silencito is to help create joyful, balanced movement in every person. Working with you to integrate mind and body through movement, to create inner and outer transformation. This is an ongoing experience that becomes a way of living. Helping to heal and develop wellbeing in the body, mind and spirit. Pilates is for every body. Young, old, fit, unfit, healthy, unhealthy… from all walks of life. I aim to get to know each person, their needs and goals, to create an uplifting movement experience. Joyful, balanced movement every day is empowering. In Meditation at Silencito we explore many meditation techniques which are all interrelated, including: concentration meditation, mindfulness meditation, reflective meditation, creative meditation, heart centred meditation, stillness meditation and transformative meditation. Silencito is a fully equipped Pilates and Meditation studio with high quality equipment. Pilates tuition includes private classes, intimate groups (max. three people) and mat classes (up to six people). Meditation classes have a maximum of six people. That little space in the day, that little moment to be, that little awareness of self. Discover joy in the wonder of life, to breathe, to move, to align… to be.

As I reflect on this year past, I have an overall sense of significant shifts in all of you. It was a year of stepping up to that next phase. Shedding another layer of conditioned patterns to upgrade to a better way. Remembering that with good intentions, attention and self-direction, we can stay in charge of our own positive changes.

Joseph Pilates called his method “Contrology”. The art of movement with control and awareness. Contrology is more than a system of exercise. It is a philosophy of intentional movement with awareness and self-mastery. Uniting mind, body and spirit through consciously controlled movement, to upgrade our subconscious habitual patterns to a better way. We consciously and subconsciously find a more intuitive path. When opening up to a greater whole self awareness in everyday life through movement, long-term positive change can happen on so many levels.

If you were to take only one thing from Silencito Pilates & Meditation this year, may it be whole being awareness in everything you do. .................................................
Awareness of how you move through space, awareness of whole body, mind, spirit, whilst you do your everyday stuff. Creating better movement patterns, balance, alignment, activation, connection on all levels - physical emotional, spiritual….. With heightened awareness of movement, long-term change can happen on so many levels. .................................................
Tuning in to your self with curiosity, moving with presence, noticing subtler sensations of the body, deeper listening to that deeper knowing, using your inner wisdom to guide your movements, self directing, moving with a calm nervous system. Dropping in to whole being, whilst releasing all resistance to healing. What a year! I want to hug you all!

As I reflect on this year past, I have an overall sense of such a beautiful change across all of you. There is a noticeable increase in overall awareness. With heightened awareness, change can happen on so many levels. As we spend our time in the studio moving with presence, staying tuned in, noticing subtleties; we gently make changes on a conscious and unconscious level. Creating and rejoicing in the feel-goodness along the way.

At Silencito, I am aiming to help us all open up to a greater whole awareness, through movement. We are often so attached to our bodies, that it is useful to bring our attention to the body and breath to help lead to better harmonious connections on all levels. Working with good attention and intention to change our ways. The body responds to the intentions of the mind.

By being as present as we can during our movements, moving with care and inner control, we can consciously and unconsciously find a more intuitive way with mind, body, being. We all know how to do this, it just takes remembering, and having the dedicated space in our busy lives to remember.

Transmuting denseness, rigidity, compression, stiffnesses to light, innately graceful, balanced nourishing movements with an essence of ease. Awareness is the key to making long-term positive changes.

I love teaching all of you so much and am forever grateful for your beautiful presence, friendships and all that you bring to the studio and my life.

Introducing the Core Align to our traditional Pilates studio. Offering challenging balance and proprioception work for every body at every level. Enhancing harmonious movement patterns with conscious attention and intention to alter good quality movement from our conscious to our subconscious, heightening body awareness.

I was the Master Teacher Trainer Australia-wide for years before having my daughter, so now it is time for our own studio to experience its magic.

I am overwhelmed with appreciation for all you beautiful souls who have shined so bright in my life this year. I am honoured to welcome so many wonderful, diverse people in to our sacred studio. Every single one of you have so much specialness and I treasure you all.

As many of you know, I love this quote by the formidable Martha Graham….

“The body is a sacred garment. It is your first and last garment; it is what you enter life in and what you depart life with, and it should be treated with honour.” - Martha Graham.

May we care for our sacred garments and choose to live a life of joy. As we learn to listen to our innate body wisdom, we are guided in how to move our bodies. We are subtly different each day and there is a true wisdom in being able to recognise this and work with it. Our bodies are our teacher and as we learn to deeply listen to its whispered messages, we learn to let it guide us through our movements.

Our bodies are a marvel in all they can do and as we near the end of the year, I wish to celebrate the beauty and potential of all your bodies. Let your movements feel beautiful, filled with grace and inner strength. Find your own unique way to move and be, with a vibrant aliveness that is always deep within us. Our bodies are an expression of our inner selves as we dance upon this planet.

May we all choose joyful, harmonious movements with presence every day.

Congratulations dear Silencito Mum, Marieke, on the birth of your precious son, on the 8th November 2022. He is absolutely gorgeous. Welcome to Earth dear little one.

Marieke surely is a power woman! She birthed at home amongst the love of her family and is now Mum of five beautiful children. Every woman is so unique and that was certainly so in our pregnancy journey and birth preparations. As always, we went with the ebbs and flows, and worked with what's needed in the moment, rather than running by the rules.

You are an inspiration, Marieke. You are blessed with five little miracles.
