Great day out in Mogo

We held our Elder Care Support luncheon in Mogo this week and it was a wonderful day with nearly 30 Elders joining us to share a meal and spend time together.

The luncheon created a warm, welcoming space for Elders to connect with the Elder Care Support team and other Katungul staff. Kizzy Nye also joined us to share her possum‑skin craft with the group.

More events are being planned and details will be available soon.

Reclaim Our Breath

Our ancestors lived with clean air and strong lungs. Today, ci******es contain more than 7,000 chemicals and that is not who we are. We deserve better. It’s time to reclaim our breath so it can be clean, strong, and truly ours again.

If you’re thinking about cutting down or quitting, you don’t have to do it alone. For support, contact our Tackling Indigenous Smoking team on 1800 804 201, or for extra help call Quitline on 13 78 48.

🏃🏽‍♀️🔥 FUNDRAISE FOR DEADLY RUNNERS
Run with purpose. Create change. 🖤💛❤️

There are marathons — and then there is the Australian Outback Marathon.
On 25 July 2026, we’re inviting you to leave the road behind and test your limits on the red earth of the Northern Territory. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, this is more than a race, it’s an experience alongside the oldest living culture on Earth.

🔥 The Challenge
Running in the Red Centre is a true test of grit, endurance and spirit. Whether tackling the full marathon or the half marathon, the deep sand and fire trails will push you well beyond your comfort zone and that’s where real growth happens.

🖤💛❤️ The Purpose – Running for Deadly Runners
You won’t just be running for a medal or a PB. You’ll be running to help change lives.
Deadly Runners is more than a running organisation it’s a movement. By joining our team, you’ll be fundraising to support First Nations people to reclaim health, confidence, and pathways into training and employment.

💪 Fundraising Support
Fundraising doesn’t have to be daunting. You’ll be supported every step of the way with tools, guidance and ideas — whether that’s tapping into friends, family, your workplace, your run club, or even convincing a run buddy to join (who’ll be faster… or raise more?).

💥 Every dollar raised supports:
• Free running programs in First Nations communities
• Leadership, culture camps & cultural exchange
• Healing through movement and connection to Country
Are you ready to run for something bigger than yourself?
