THE GOLDEN HOUR

The "golden hour" after giving birth is a precious time filled with warmth and connection.

It's all about that magical first hour when your newborn is welcomed into the world, wrapped in love and held close to your heart.

This special time allows for tender moments, bonding, and the sweet beginnings of your journey together

Do you know the stages of labour and what to expect?

As we get older, we seemingly get a little quieter.
We observe more, and as the saying goes, “you don’t learn much if you’re always flapping your mouth” (I don’t know if that’s how the saying actually goes, but it’s close enough)

Most women progressing through labour will go within.
As each surge passes through their body bringing their baby closer to arriving earthside, we move into a deep state of meditation.
I’m not talking about cross legged bliss type meditation, I’m talking raw power, real and in the moment.

Birthing provides us with an opportunity to be the present in our bodies, and in our minds.

You’ll notice that when a woman is in the throes of labour and in the midst of a surge, she will close her eyes and go within.

A sacred moment in the journey to parenthood.

We worked on reframing the story of birth after a challenging first time.

Using the power of vocalisation both in the capacity of birth, but most importantly empowering this amazing team to advocate for their baby if something didn’t feel right.

I recently signed up to .co six week ‘my marketing playbook’ program and holy smokes it’s really been so helpful for my little business.

Im learning lots of fascinating information about marketing and socials - and it has been a real game changer for me as a small business owner who wears all of the hats.

The marketing ‘hat’ was the hardest, as it is for so many other small businesses!

I’m spearheading my own rebrand with the assistance of the team at .co and trialling a few colours out here - (I studied interior design a long time ago, but colour psychology was by far my fave subject!) I went ham on the site looking for colour combos based on colours with important attributes of pregnancy and birthing.

💚 Green signifies new growth, life evolving and changing, fertility and harmony.

💜 Violet (aka Very Peri - which is such a perfect name!) is creativity, the chakra connected to a higher power, wisdom, peace and magic (all of the most glorious aspects of pregnancy and birth)

🤎 chai (brown) represents strength and reliability, seen as security and safety. These attributed are Verrryyy important during our sacred birth.

And finally, the colour Dewberry, or purple (a mix of blue and red) represents power, wisdom and a little luxury - because why should we be a little luxe along our voyage to motherhood (be it first, second, third, ninth time!)
