Risky Bucks 💸
Risky Bucks is an awesome finance system we have here at Risky Kids. We have built this system so that Risky Kids can understand the importance of saving/giving and delayed gratification. Risky Bucks can be earned if a Risky Kid:
- Challenges themselves
- Asks for Help
- Sets or achieves a goal
- Masters/improves their moves/mindsets
- Helps others
- Demonstrates a mindset
- So many more!
At the end of their sessions, Risky Kids get to decide if they want to put their Risky Bucks in Spend, Build or Give.
- Spend: any Risky Bucks put in this go into our Risky Kids personal savings where they can choose to save up and make cool purchases such as wall run sticker, popcorn snack, sticker dip, Bonus Class, Action clip ✅
- Build: is a collaborative where all Risky Bucks in this are added together, and once we reach a set goal as a club, we unlock a special reward such as events or new equipment ✅
- Give: any Risky Bucks put in Give are converted into real money and donated to charities at the end of each term. This teaches kids that it is important to give to those in need when we can! ✅
Risky Bucks are a huge hit at Risky Kids, and the coaches love the opportunity to hand any out when they can! 🤩

What is parkour… and why are kids obsessed with it?
Parkour is about learning how to move through any environment or space as creativity as possible using your body - running, jumping, climbing, balancing… turning everyday obstacles into something fun and challenging.
But what makes Parkour so powerful for kids development?
Our classes are, not about being the best or doing crazy tricks - its about
✨ giving things a go
✨ building confidence
✨ learning how to fall safely and get back up again
✨ and having a ridiculous amount of fun!
If your child loves to climb, jump and explore BUT they’re just not interested in playing traditional sports - they are probably a Risky Kid!

🤸‍♀️🤸🏾 Risky Play - building strong, confident young people from the age of 1.5years!

This week we are working on the Mindset 'It's not easy, Your'e Good'

How powerful is this moment?
'I can win'
'I can do this'
'I worked for this'
Because you did!!

Mindset | It’s Not Easy You’re Good
If you’ve worked with kids for any length of time you’ll know that, even when they’re clearly not, kids love telling you how easy things are!
At Risky Kids we discourage this for two reasons; the first is that calling something complex and challenging “easy” means you’re undermining your own abilities and failing to affirm yourself, and is also likely to lead to a decrease in practice (leading to a decrease in skill).
The second is that in the presence of someone who’s still working on that challenge and DOESN’T find it easy will discourage them and make them feel that there’s something wrong with them.
We encourage Risky Kids to make better use of their language, which in turn decreases their “needs to be seen as” Mindset and also increases their humility.

Here’s some of the different valuable behaviours which we look for: Recognising growth and progress, Using "it's easy" language less, Considering others' journey, Differentiating between simple tasks and ones which have been mastered.

🧠Next up in our 30 second Mindset Challenge Coach Kiara shares our BE AWARE Mindset

Be Aware, one of our Alpha Mindsets is all about helping kids to be curious about their worlds, the people around them and themselves as a way of preventing Harm, but also not avoiding Risk.
We don't want to instil fear, but promote Awareness.
Here’s some of the different valuable behaviours which we look for: Noticing others in pathways of movement, Resting when they’re tired, Communicating emotions and physical needs, Noticing other people’s needs, Noticing changes to the space,

THE MOVEMENT ABOUT MINDSET

RISKY KIDS is unlike any other program for kids today, and it answers all the questions that are being asked about; resilience, mindsets and of course risk. We use exciting Movements and communicate them alongside powerful Mindsets to create RISKY KIDS!

MOVEMENTS

All Risky Kids get taught empowering movement styles which they can take anywhere in life. Parkour, Ninja, Tricking and Vaulting help teach kids the power of their bodies, and there’s not equipment, lines or teams needed.
