Kaz Hamilton and I were so proud to be part of the launch of the Dead End Coffee Club Dubbo at the Orana Every Woman Festival on 3 March.

We can never have enough opportunities to talk about end of life issues.

Grateful to Social Gain for including the event as part of the festival.

A “last ride” motorcycle es**rt was a special feature at a recent graveside service in Narromine.

The lead rider spoke of his great honour es**rting a much loved family friend on his last journey, as that person had introduced him to motorcycles as a child.

What a beautiful way to say goodbye.

If you’re looking to create a memorial space at home, something like this may appeal if you have a small courtyard that doesn’t get much use. Add a bench and garden features that appeal to you, and it then becomes a meaningful place of quiet reflection.

December is always a difficult time for families grieving the loss of loved ones as a new year approaches and those special people are no longer here to move into the new year with them.

I’m grateful to the three families who have recently requested me to perform the farewells for their loved ones this month. It is an honour and a privilege to do so.

These service medals had pride of place on the casket of a WWII veteran who passed away earlier this month.

The Australian flag was also on the casket, and the Narromine sub-branch of the RSL performed a poppy ceremony at the funeral on December 20.

Lest we forget.
