Five years ago this week we got the keys to our new clinic space at Hollywood Consulting Centre … from that empty shell we have built Perth’s most comprehensive Vascular clinic, Ponosh Vascular with dedicated vascular imaging - Perth VascularScan, high risk podiatry, comprehensive rooms based vein treatments all supported by an amazing admin and clinical team. Very proud of what we have grown into.

Well done to Joseph Hanna and team with the support of Ponosh Vascular for the publication of a great article on Pelvic Venous Congestion Syndrome (PCS) in this month’s The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Journal (AJGP).

An underestimated, underappreciated, underdiagnosed but so very simply treated cause of 30-40% of women of all ages struggling with pelvic pain.

It’s a wrap …. Last (planned) day of the year done. A lazy carotid endarterctomy, femorodistal bypass and a few skin grafts. A huge thank you to my team … it has been a massive year and I am only a strong as the parts of it. From my secretaries, sonographers and practice manager in the rooms; to the nurses in theatre, angiosuite and the ward; to my anaesthetists and my sidekick Dr Vares …. I’m and very grateful and lucky to have them. I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing and stressfree festive season! Merry Christmas 🎄

Lest we forget.

Remembrance Day is living history and always very special at Hollywood Private Hospital. Initially opened in 1941 as 110 Military Hospital, built to care for servicemen and women during WW2, it became the Repatriatrion General Hospital in 1947 caring for both veterans and service people.
The legacy and respect continues following RGH becoming Hollywood Private Hospital in 1994 following Ramsay Health Care.

Silver Chain has been providing amazing home nursing care care for 130 years this week. From humble beginnings with horse and buggy, the name Silver Chain has become synonymous for Western Australians for exemplary, world class but sometimes underestimated and thankless home nursing care. As a Vascular Surgeon with an interest in chronic wound care, I use Silver Chain in my private practice almost every day for extended primary wound care and long-term wound management. My outcomes are better for their excellent care and I am forever grateful. Kudos to such a wonderful non-for-profit organisation.
