The Spleen in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

The Spleen is the centre of digestion and transformation in TCM, converting food into energy (Qi) and blood. It also governs the muscles and holds things in place. Emotionally, the Spleen is connected to overthinking and worry, and imbalances can show up as digestive issues or mental fog.

How Do I Know If My Spleen Is Imbalanced?

Watch out for these signs:
Digestive: Bloating, loose stools, or poor appetite
Energy: Fatigue, especially after eating, or feeling heavy
Mental: Overthinking, worry, or brain fog
Physical: Muscle weakness, bruising easily, or water retention

What Can I Do to Support My Spleen?
Eat Warm, Cooked Foods: The spleen prefers warmth, so try eating more cooked meals like soups and stews, and avoid too many cold or raw foods.
Eat Mindfully: Avoid eating while stressed or distracted. Focus on eating slowly and chewing well to support digestion.
Strengthen Your Core: Gentle core exercises like Tai Chi or Qigong can help strengthen the spleen and improve digestion.

Which Acupressure Points Can Help?
Spleen 6 : Located on the inside of the leg, about four finger-widths above the ankle. Press here to strengthen digestion and relieve bloating or menstrual issues.
Stomach 36: Found below the knee, this point is known for boosting energy, improving digestion, and strengthening the immune system.

Give it a Try!
Take a moment to press Spleen 6 or Stomach 36 while taking deep, slow breaths.

✨ Serenity Glow: A Holistic Journey to Radiance and Balance ✨

Start your Serenity Glow treatment with Esoteric Acupuncture, a practice that combines the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the 7 chakra system. This gentle yet powerful treatment works by unblocking and rebalancing your energy, clearing emotional and energetic blockages in a calming and uplifting way. As your chakras realign, you’ll experience a profound sense of inner peace and happiness, allowing your body to enter a neutral state where healing naturally takes place. 🌿

Once your energy is in balance, we move to the next stage: 🌸 Double Cleanse, Tone, Exfoliate & Mask: Refreshes and prepares your skin for rejuvenation. 💆‍♀️ Cosmetic Acupuncture: Stimulates collagen production, smooths fine lines, improves skin tone, and enhances hydration. ✨ GW Facial Therapy: A soothing facial massage using acupressure, lymphatic drainage, and facial reflexology to release tension, lift sagging skin, and boost circulation.

The result? Glowing, youthful skin and a deeply relaxed mind, body, and spirit. Ready to experience the Serenity Glow? Book your session today!

The Heart in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

In TCM, the heart is known as the "Emperor" of the body, overseeing not just blood circulation but also our mind and emotions, especially joy. A balanced heart brings calmness and mental clarity, while imbalances can affect both your emotional and physical health.

How Do I Know If My Heart Is Imbalanced?
Watch out for these signs:
Emotional: Anxiety, restlessness, or feeling overwhelmed
Physical: Palpitations, night sweats, or mouth ulcers
Mental: Poor concentration or forgetfulness
Sleep: Difficulty falling asleep or insomnia

What Can I Do to Support My Heart?
Calm Your Mind: Dedicate a few minutes daily to meditation or deep breathing. This helps soothe stress and reconnect with your inner peace.
Stay Cool: Include cooling foods in your diet like cucumber, watermelon, and green tea to balance any heat in the heart.
Prioritize Sleep: Create a calming bedtime routine. Drink a herbal tea or a warm bath to help improve sleep quality.
Regular Acupuncture/Moxibustion/Massage treatments to keep the Heart Qi balanced.
Chinese Herbs: Chinese herbs can nourish and strengthen Heart Qi, helping to calm the mind, reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and support emotional well-being. On a personal note, in 2018 I had a run down period in my life that manifested with heart palpitations. After nothing showing with medical tests, including an angiogram, my husband Marc (my personal acupuncturist and chinese herbalist! :)), had me on a formula for my symptoms. After a week or so, my severe symptoms had cleared, and I was feeling better within a few weeks.

Which Acupressure Points Can Help?
Heart 7 (Shenmen): Find this point on the inner wrist, in line with the pinky finger. Press gently to calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and improve sleep.
Give it a Try!
Start with 30 seconds of gentle pressure on any of these points while taking deep breaths.

The Liver in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

In TCM, the Liver plays a big role in the smooth flow of energy (Qi) throughout the body and helps regulate emotions, especially anger and frustration. It also supports digestion and detoxification. When the liver is out of balance, it can affect both your mood and your physical well-being.

How Do I Know If My Liver Is Imbalanced?
Look out for these common signs:
Emotional: Irritability, frustration, or sudden outbursts of anger
Physical: Tension in the neck or shoulders, headaches, or menstrual issues
Digestive: Bloating, indigestion, or feeling sluggish
Eyes: Red, dry, or tired eyes

What Can I Do to Support My Liver?
Move Your Body: Exercise or stretch regularly to get your Qi flowing smoothly. Even a walk or gentle yoga can help release liver tension.
Eat Light & Green: Add more green, leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and dandelion greens. These foods help cleanse and support the liver.
Express Your Emotions: Journaling, talking things out, or practicing mindful breathing can help release pent-up emotions that stress your liver.
Acupressure: Try pressing this acupuncture point with thumb for about 30 second on each side a few times a day.
Liver 3 (Taichong): Located on the top of your foot, between the big toe and second toe, about two finger-widths back from the webbing. Press gently to help calm irritability and stress.
Acupuncture/Moxibustion/Massage: Regular treatments can help keep your Liver Qi flowing freely throughout the body.
Chinese Herbs: Chinese herbs can help soothe and regulate Liver Qi, promoting smoother energy flow, reducing stress, and restoring emotional balance

🌿 What is Cosmetic Acupuncture? 🌿

Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural, non-invasive treatment that uses fine needles to stimulate the body’s healing process and improve the appearance of the skin. Here’s how it helps:

Stimulates Collagen Production: Helps firm the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Improves Circulation: Increases blood flow, which leads to a healthy, radiant complexion.
Enhances Skin Tone: Reduces puffiness and improves skin elasticity.
Boosts Hydration: Encourages moisture retention, leaving skin soft and supple.
Whole-Body Benefits: Beyond beauty, it promotes overall relaxation and stress relief.
