Hear directly from one of our young participants about their experience in SibWorks!
Siblings are such an important part of the team around a child with disability. When we refer to “family-centred practice”, we mean the whole family, and that means we must acknowledge, listen and include siblings.
Our friends over at are excited to host their first SibWorks workshops for 2026, with both in-person and online options available.
SibWorks is a nationally recognised peer support program for children aged 8–12 who have a brother or sister with disability or chronic illness. Created by Kate Strohm and psychologist Monique Nesa, the program is designed to build emotional well-being, resilience and connection while giving siblings a safe space to share, learn and have fun with others who just get it.
If you’re a parent or carer, this is a beautiful opportunity for your sibling child to:
• Build meaningful connections
• Develop emotional skills
• Feel acknowledged and understood
Or perhaps your work brings you into contact with siblings of children with disability, and you’d like to strengthen the support you provide?
