When I wrote up my thesis I was really hoping to get something published. To my surprise two articles were accepted. It is extra-exciting that for the first article, the Editor of the Journal of Trauma & Dissociation, Professor Ford, asked for two commentaries and we were invited to respond. The article, with the commentaries and our response are finally published together in one place, The Journal of Trauma and Dissociation, Volume 25 (5)! Many thanks to my co-authors, the reviewers, Professor Ford, and the commentators. I can't believe that one of the commentaries was authored by Christine Courtois, author of Healing the In**st Wound, whose work I have long admired!

I have recently published two papers exploring the treatment of people who have experienced in**stuous abuse continuing into adulthood. The first of these is available in Journal of Trauma and Dissociation:

and the second has been published in the Journal of Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice and Policy:

I hope that they are helpful and validating for both therapists and survivors.

I look forward to joining Naomi Halpern, Delphi Centre as she hosts a panel discussion entitled Blowing the Whistle on Freud's Seduction Theory. I join Jeff Masson, Warwick Middleton and Martin Dorahy to discuss the upcoming book "Contemporary Perspectives on Freud's Seduction Theory and Psychotherapy
Revisiting Masson’s ‘The Assault on Truth’". I have been very fortunate to co-author a chapter with Martin in this book, in which we explore the impact of this theory and its history on trauma therapy today.
The live online panel discussion is full but anyone can subscribe for a recording with this link:

I feel very honoured to be presented with ISSTD President's Award for 2024. It is humbling to be in the company of Michael Coy and Jennifer Freyd who have done much more than myself for the trauma and dissociation field. I wish I could have been at the annual conference to hear the speakers and see the rest of the Awards Ceremony. Maybe next year ...

I have been spending a rainy afternoon updating my website. I was embarrassed to see how out of date it was - a new year brings a new article, updated page information, and updated services! I am now focussed on expanding assessment services and providing supervision and case consultation to other therapists. Check it out at

I am a registered psychologist working with individuals, couples and families. I work with children, adolescents and adults, supporting them to learn more about themselves, heal from the past and resolve current problems and challenges.
