Stress is a common response of the body to daily challenges and events, but often can cause a variety of issues if the body is exposed to it for prolonged periods.
🙇♀️ Muscle tension is the instant response of the body to stress, which can cause a high occurrence of headaches, migraines, or upper back pain.
⬆️ Prolonged periods of stress can trigger elevated blood pressure and increased cortisol production, the ‘stress’ hormone.
🤒 Further, the nervous system when exposed to stress can shift into ‘fight or flight’ mode, and through overuse of energy resources this can strain communication between the body and the immune system. Thus, exposing you to becoming sick or overrun.
