What is Yin and Yang?
Some would answer, it's male and female.

But in Feng Shui it represents much more. It is winter and summer, negative and positive, night and day, dark and light, water and fire, cold and hot, moon and sun, sour and sweet, rest and activity.

There is a never-ending exchange between yin and yang. The two shapes oppose, embrace and chase each other and always compliment each other. Too much yin and you or your environment are out of balance. Too much Yang and you or your environment are out of balance. A Feng shui will consultation help you to align yin and yang in all areas of your life.

How to attract Ch’i into your home.

What is Ch’i?

Ch’i is the Chinese word for “cosmic breath” and it mimics the movement of air and water. Ch’i that meanders slowly through your home is good ch’i and this is the type we want to enhance for better outcomes in our lives.

A very important part of the home in Feng Shui is the ‘mouth’ or front entrance. If used correctly, Feng Shui helps to attract a good flow of positive energy (ch’i) to your home and helps to deflect any negative energy (sha chi).

Some tips to attract ch’i include:
1. Maintain your front door and area. Fix any squeaky hinges and loose handles.
2. Ensure that your front door is clean, tidy and well-lit to invite guests inside.
3. A door that opens inwards is best as your guests do not need to step backwards to enter your home.
4. Straight pathways to the front door mean the ch’i will rush in all at once. You will need to slow down this energy and place some appropriate items along with pathway.
5. The colour and use of elements near your front door matters also. Attract luck and prosperity by using the right colours and elements. This needs to be personalized to each dwelling.
