The gardens surrounding the Westport Homestead were influenced by former owner Neil Robertson’s landscape planting themes and formed the framework of the village’s gardens.

Paul Bangay Garden Design has worked with Neil’s broad structure to enhance the site with the flora being complemented by pergolas, shade trees, expansive lawns, water features, ornaments, seating, and accessible paths; all working together to connect the garden spaces.

Westport Estate is quite literally steeped in history dating back to the time of the first European settlers, with the most recent owner Neil Robertson descending from those pioneers. The framework of the garden planted over 100 years ago still exists today, and the rejuvenation and development of the gardens, by Paul Bangay Garden Design uses the existing framework to create spaces that blur the boundary between building and landscape design.

Riddells Creek Farmers Market on Saturday from 9am to 1pm at Riddells Creek Primary School. It is an authentic farmers market showcasing fresh, local produce from our regions fabulous stallholders. So, treat yourself to local honey, eggs, olives, chutneys, beer, wine, plants, sourdough and cakes.

On Sunday from 9am to 1pm visit the Malmsbury Village Farmers Market at Malmsbury Village Green. A community-based market with up to 50 stalls and producers selling fresh, local and handmade produce and products.

So, if you are visiting the region this weekend, come and support the local community, farmers, makers and producers, and add it to your itinerary.
