“The staff at Kyneton Health provide essential support to our community during their time of need, so it’s essential that we support them. I’d like to thank all the donors who contributed to this great cause, in particular, Lisa from Mount Macedon Realty, who has been extremely generous!”

KYNETON HEALTH CARE VAN ON THE ROAD THANKS TO GENEROUS LOCALS
Macedon Ranges residents needing care in the home will now have medical equipment installed in their home more efficiently due to the new, larger van recently purchased and fitted out by Kyneton Health due to the generosity of donors.
The van will support the Macedon Ranges Community Nursing team who provide services to patients in their homes, including end-of-life palliative care, across the region. This new vehicle fits all of the necessary equipment without needing to disassemble and reassemble larger items so that vital care can commence as soon as possible.
The idea to fundraise for a new van came from local business owner Troy Upfield from Wooling Hill Memorial Estate. He wanted to raise funds for something that would make a real impact in his community through his charity event in October 2022. The idea became a reality thanks to his collaboration with Lisa Fowler who agreed to be the major sponsor for the event, Mount Macedon Realty - Wooling Hill Run 2022. Funds for the van also came from general donations to the health services from very generous members of the community.

Lisa Fowler from Mount Macedon Realty said,
“Mount Macedon Realty is thrilled to be involved in this nurturing project that has already helped so many people. We are so pleased to be associated with this worthy service which has such visible benefits for local patients and their families in their time of need.”
Maree Cuddihy, CEO of Central Highlands Rural Health said,
“The new Care Van means that we can provide essential treatment quickly to those needing in-home medical services from our Community Nursing team. The generosity of Troy and Liddy Upfield and Lisa Fowler, along with members of the community who participated in the fundraising event, is amazing. Their contributions to rural healthcare will have an incredible impact on the Macedon Ranges community.”
This isn’t the first time that Troy and Lisa have shown their commitment to the physical and emotional health and wellbeing of their community. In 2021, the Mount Macedon Realty - Wooling Hill Run raised funds to purchase a cuddle bed for Kyneton Health’s palliative care suite in the acute ward. The bed allows people to lay next to loved ones during the end of their life care. Troy also hosted the Kyneton Golf Day in 2023 which raised funds for the dialysis unit that is providing essential life support treatment to patients with kidney disease.
