There’s a lot of misinformation floating around when it comes to fertility. Let’s bust a few myths and replace them with facts.

Myth 1: “If I just relax, I’ll get pregnant.”
Fact: Stress can affect your health broadly, but it’s not the sole cause of infertility. Many fertility issues are biological and need medical assessment and intervention.

Myth 2: “I’m in my early 30s — I shouldn’t worry yet.”
Fact: While fertility generally declines with age, doing baseline fertility testing early gives you insight and time to plan.

Myth 3: “IVF always works on the first try.”
Fact: IVF has very good success rates, especially in younger patients, but it still may take more than one attempt. That’s normal each step gives us more data to optimise your treatment.

At Dr Holland’s practice and Genea Newcastle, we believe in evidence, transparency, and personalised care.

Curious about fertility testing or next steps? Drop a comment, send us a DM, or book a consultation.

Thinking about starting a family or trying and not getting pregnant as quickly as you expected? You’re not alone.

Here’s what Dr Matthew Holland wants you to know:

• If you’ve been actively trying for 12 months (or 6 months if over age 35) and haven’t conceived, it’s a good idea to seek fertility assessment.

• Fertility is influenced by many factors - age, ovarian reserve, s***m health, uterine factors, hormonal balance, and more.

• Early investigation can provide answers, reduce uncertainty, and help guide your path forward (treatments, lifestyle changes, etc.).

• At Genea Newcastle, we offer comprehensive fertility testing, treatments, and support tailored to you, not “one size fits all.”

• You don’t have to do it alone. Asking questions, getting clarity, and taking the first step is already a powerful move.

If you’re wondering whether it’s time to talk to a fertility specialist, send us a message or book a consultation. We’re here to help you understand and plan your journey.
