If you're experiencing painful and clotty periods, it can indeed be a potential sign of endometriosis. It's important to remember that endometriosis can manifest in mild to severe stages, and the intensity of your pain doesn't always directly reflect the severity of the condition itself.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), endometriosis is understood as a condition of "blood stasis." Our approach to treatment focuses on clearing this stasis to restore healthy blood flow to the pelvic region. This often involves the use of herbal remedies, which I typically prescribe in convenient pill or capsule form, alongside regular acupuncture sessions.
Through my clinical observations, I've noted that some clients may present with normal cycle lengths (around 28 days), mild to moderate pain, and normal blood test results, yet still face challenges with conception or experience repeated IVF failures. My primary goal in treating endometriosis is to promote a healthier uterine environment. By improving this environment, we aim to increase your chances of natural conception or successful IVF outcomes.
Even with the "best protocol" in IVF, an inflammatory uterine environment can unfortunately lead to unsuccessful results. Therefore, I often recommend preparing your uterine environment for at least a couple of months. We consider the uterus to be the home for an embryo for the next twelve months, so it is paramount that we prepare this environment to be as favorable as possible for successful implantation and growth.
