This week, we held an action-packed ICU Difficult Airway Management Course, bringing together an amazing group of Clinicians. The teamwork, comradery, and commitment to learning were inspiring!

💡 Why does this course stand out?
We focused on incorporating cognitive aids like the Vortex Approach to help clinicians:

Serious complications such as bleeding or cardiac arrest following open-heart surgery may require emergency chest reopening in ICU. While rare, these high-risk situations demand a rapid, coordinated and confident response.

As Simulation Program Manager at the HNE Simulation Centre, Liz is all about creating practical, engaging learning experiences that support healthcare teams to build skills, confidence and capability.

With a background in ICU nursing and quality management, she brings a strong clinical lens to everything she does—along with a passion for making simulation more accessible, innovative and inclusive, especially for teams working across diverse and regional settings.

She’s passionate about supporting and empowering her team, creating opportunities for them to grow, collaborate and thrive, and coordinates professional development days built around their needs to ensure learning is relevant, practical and impactful.
