Able and Active Physiotherapy

Able and Active Physiotherapy Able and Active Physiotherapy provides Physiotherapy services to the New Norfolk and Derwent Valley

My name is Ryan Soto, I am a Physiotherapist and recently started Able and Active Physiotherapy at the Derwent Valley Medical Centre to provide a local physiotherapy option for the Derwent Valley community. Since graduating from La Trobe University with my Masters in Physiotherapy (2015), I have worked in regional and rural Victoria across a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, rehab wards, community outpatients and in patients’ homes. I moved to New Norfolk in March 2020 in search of greener landscapes and fresher air. After nearly a year at the Tasmanian Health service I decided to step out on my own and start Able and Active Physiotherapy. I am happy to see all ages and conditions and I have a particular interest in treating older people with chronic conditions, decreased mobility, lower back pain, and shoulder issues. My philosophy is to give patients the tools and knowledge to assist them to better manage their condition and accomplish their goals. While I do provide manual therapy, my main treatment strategy with patients involves getting them stronger, improving movement and reducing pain.
